And I'm already pooped! This losing weight thing is hard. I'm finding that you really have to committ yourself every single day, or else it won't happen.

I don't have any pictures to post, but I started this whole thing on Monday. Here it is Saturday.....so close to a full week.

Right now I am trading off days between the elliptical machine (aka, the devil) and Wii Fit Plus. I'm going to add free weights soon......that is, unless DH can dig them out of their graveyard called the "junk closet" where, let's face it, stuff goes to die.

I started out weighing 224 with a BMI of 39.something on Tuesday. I weighed myself again on Friday and I had lost 2 lbs and some odd ounces and am now down at a BMI of 38.something (I'll pay closer attention to that next time)

So, with that, I was motivated to keep going....and hold myself accountable, hence the ticker of doom in my signature. So....I hope this keeps going.....especially now that I have had the courage to put this out there.

So....uh....woo. Let's get out there...and er.....get on those treadmills....and uh.....eat......grass! YEAH!

WTG Katy! I know what you mean, its always the hardest forming a habit of exercise ~ sounds like you're doing great! Have you set mini-goals for yourself? I set a goal of losing 5lbs a month, I am almost at my January goal! Yay!! Keep up the good work!

You can do this, girl! LIke you said, you just have to 100% commit yourself to it fully. Remember, a majority of weight loss is mental. Set your mind to it and you can do it and live it every day. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change! Keep up the good work!

Yeah! That's what I have come to learn! It is a lifestyle change, so....I have to start slow so I'll grow to like so I'll want to do it...and not feel like I have to do it!

Thanks girls!

Yes, start slowly...I can't emphasize enough how important it is to start slowly. We watch everyone on TV on the Biggest Loser and see them being thrown from one lifestyle into another and they make it look like it's easy to adapt, but reality is that they are in a more controlled environment and our lives as they are, are not. ONE change at a time. Maybe this week work on incorporating a new food into your diet as a substitution for a junk food you would normally eat. Maybe next week add 1 extra unit of resistance to the elliptical and "sprint" on it for 30 second intervals for 2-3 minutes. If you try to do it all at once, you might burn out quickly.

I've got to get back into the game myself. My weight has been yo-yo-ing for the last 3 months. I've consistently been going to the gym, but not been practicing very good eating habits. I don't know about you, but I'm an emotional eater and that is probably the hardest thing to overcome.

Yes! Even though I know that in the Biggest Loser, they are thrown into extremes....to where all they do all day is work-out, sleep, and eat right, it's hard to not see much change when I step on the scale.

I was on Cloud 9 after losing 2 lbs. in 3 days, but after the next 3 days passed and I stepped on the scale, I had only lost a few ounces. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. It really hit home how long this is going to take and how vigilant I'm going to have to stay. Granted, I don't want to give up, but I'm going to have to psych myself up for this EVERY DAY!

I could only do a quarter mile on the elliptical today. I was so frustrated with myself. I wanted to do more, but my thighs just wouldn't let me.

But, I will say that my hubs, in support of this, went out and bought me a PUR water filter that fits right on our tap so that I could be more apt to drink water. And it's worked! I've been drinking about 32 oz. of water a day......and that's A LOT for me! I hardly ever drink water! So...I'm hoping that that will be helpful for me.

A quarter mile is great! That's a quarter mile's worth of calorie and muscle burn that you didn't have before!

Oh yay! Oh yay! I lost another 2.2 lbs. in 3 days! SUH-WEET!

I didn't exercise yesterday because I was in such a funk over the hubby going back to school and my mom lecturing me about how I don't push Rachel to do enough outside of school....oh....and she accused me of putting my music before my family, which is hardly true. If that were the case, I'd be a much better horn player than I am now because I'd be practicing all the time.

However, I digress. I did an hour on my Wii Fit Plus and I started drinking more water and adding 5 lb. weight training. And yay! Another 2 lbs. lost!

I've been told that I need to go to Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal | MyFitnessPal.com and set up an account, and I think I will!

EDIT: So, I can tell why people can't live with their MyFitnessPal! I've only used it for one day and I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT! I've already got it bookmarked on my phone so I can access it when I go out and eat. After inputting my exercise and food intake, I'm actually more than 800 calories UNDER my goal! WOOHOO! And, I've eaten four times today! And, I counted that hour on my Wii Fit Plus and I was only 2 calories off my daily calorie burn! I can't believe how AWESOME this website is! It's really made me accountable and I'm actually EXCITED about this journey!

Man...I can't believe how many CAPS LETTERS I'm using! I'm just so stoked!!!! Woot! Woot! Bathing suit season, here I come!

Omigosh!! Well, I weighed in today and I have lost a total of 7 lbs and 2 oz. in 9 days!!!! I'm so friggin' excited! For the first time in my life, I feel like I'm REALLY in control and dropping weight seems so possible! I never thought I could do it, but here I am. I currently weigh 217 and I feel like that leap into the 100's is really close!

I just wanted to share my excitement with you all!

Just picked up Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and completed Level 1. Yeah, not only do I feel like I'm dying, but I'm trying really hard not to puke up my lunch.

Sorry...that was TMI *turns green*

Those workouts are super effective! I'm curious to see what you think when you get to level 3 because I think 3 is easier than 2. Level 2 kills!

I probably won't move on to Level 2 for another 10 days. I think I"ll stay on Level 1 until I can get through it and not feel like I want to shoot myself in the head to put myself out of my own crappy misery after I'm done with it! haha!

Another 2 lbs. down today!!! I'm 212 now! It's so exciting to see the lbs. melting off! I've noticed that most of my jeans that used to be extremely tight and uncomfortable are now sliding on and zipping up with ease!

Just 13 more lbs. and I can say "bye, bye" to the 200's!!!!
