So for the last month and a half I have been doing really well with working out. Well, minus last week b/c I felt like crap and a half. Anyways, I have been pushing through but I'm afraid that I'm pushing too hard when it comes to my ankles. Seriously, I have always had really week ankles and wrists, even when I was in great shape when I was athletic. I have never been able to do a push up without major pain in my wrists and I was constantly spraining my ankles when I skated. But my ankles and the lower half of my calf (that like connects to my ankles) are KILLING ME. Like burst into tears during jumping jacks killing. They have never been this bad before, or I used to be a lot tougher then..lol. Does anyone have any really great strengthening exercises for these two problem areas or some awesome stretches that might help me get them loose enough to where it's not SO bad?

Next point. I have really great biceps, always have and I'm really strong. My triceps need work, but I'm getting there. My problem is since working out they(biceps) are becoming more and more defined and I HATE IT. I would really like to move some definition from my biceps to my butt or abs. How can I avoid man biceps?

Thanks,
Chicken ankles and man arms

Sounds like we are built similiarly, although my arms are currently flabby but the chicken legs are still there. I think you are talking about your achilles tendon area being sore. This is the only stretch I can think of off the top of my head for that area, but I'm sure there are others. As for the buff arms, I guess I'd just suggest not doing any extra weight lifting for that area besides targeting the triceps to even it out more. I can't really think of a way to soften them other than getting fat (which worked for me). Good luck!

OMG, Miranda, you have me absolutely dying here!!!!

For your ankles, you need to get some bands, they work GREAT for this. You'd basically just use the bands as resistance while sitting & flex your feet forward & back. Derek had trouble with his ankles when he first lost his weight and what helped him a ton was a stability board. You can get them at Walmart... but he went from not being able to run a lap bc his ankles were so bad... and now he can run to China without any problems.

As far as your arms go.... I'd just focus more on cardio, don't do any specific bicep moves bc a lot of other stuff you do will *use* biceps so you don't necessarily have to work them individually. I have big upper arms too but it's mostly fat I am jealous.

Thanks! I'm definitely going to try all those! It's awful, my ankles still hurt from last night. Ugg.

I'd be really proud of my arms if they didn't look so out of place on my body! Also if my triceps were better but it's like I have my bicep lump and the fat on the bottom and it's looks so weird! Bleh!

I wonder if maybe wearing some ankle support would help? I have a weak ankle (it was twisted in the womb and it's still messed up) and I used to wear just a store-bought wrap thing. I think it's Ace brand.

You should post some before pics. Show us your guns, Miranda! lol. I wish I had arm muscles. You'd think that we'd all have nice arms from carrying around LOs!
