Now that we're TTC, I've been telling DH about some of the Old Wives' Tales about TTC, fertility, etc as I come across them. I work evenings, so while I was at work tonight, I texted DH and asked him to wait up for me (rather than going to bed before I do). I told him tonight would probably be a good night to BD since I'll probably O tomorrow. His response: "oh, you don't believe all that stuff about only getting pregnant when you ovulate, right?" I actually had to explain to a 36 year old man how conception works.

You mean there's not just an egg hanging out all month just deciding when it feels like meeting up with a little spermie? No way!

LOL, wow. Then how did he explain periods?
Some one must have browbeat him with scare tactics when he was learning about sex.

That's amazing. I hope you can give him a thorough education!

My DH is the opposite, he is often found correcting women on how their cycles work. LOL!

It could be worse. My friend's husband didn't realize that babies were birthed through the vagina..... yeah, he's never heard the end of that one

Oh my. Did he never pay attention in health class at school? I'm pretty sure I learned how babies were made in 5th grade science class.

I think he got the scare tactic class "Have sex and she will get pregnant... end of story". He really thought the whole concept of being fertile a few days a month was just a myth perpetuated by people convinced that as long as they avoid those few days, they can't get pregnant.

I'd like to remind those people that as long as the woman is on top, she can't get pregnant anyway... hello, gravity!
