AF was due yesterday. I've always been a perfect 28 day cycle. Even when AF returned after a year after Lilly it still came back at a 28 day cycle. Yesterday I bought for sure she would come right down to the crampy feeling and lower back pain. Today I took a test because I'm never late and it was negative. So what's going on? What would cause af to suddenly be different?

Delayed ovulation due to stress, diet, too much exercise that day, drinking or other factors is something that can often extend your cycle for 2 days or so. Other medical conditions like thyroid function or metabolic changes can mess with your cycle.

Also from my experience it seems the older I get the longer my cycle gets. Not sure if that's the norm for most women.

I would have to agree that your added stress level has probably screwed with your cycle. It happens with me sometimes too.

I dont feel like I've had any stress. Heck, AF wasn't affected at all the month my brother died or anything.

Oh well. I guess I just have to play the waiting game.

Maybe turning the big 3 - 0 stressed me out a bit.

There are tons of factors that can make af late. Also, did you up your mileage recently or anything? Exercise can sometimes interfere with af as well. I know that when I ran cross country, I never got periods.

Still no sign of her. I'm so frustrated, the most frustrating cycle yet. Like I'm stuck in limbo or something. I had all the symptoms of af coming, cramping, breaking out, everything. The only time I've been late in my life was in college once.

I had fact plus but then I bought one of the first response tests I think they were called?

I ordered a bunch of internet cheapies on amazon yesterday so I can test as much as I want next time and not feel guilty about wasting money. Those things really are cheap.

And I haven't even been that stressed lately, well until yesterday. Yesterday was a doozy at work. lol Is it summer yet?

The other confusing thing to me is that I got a + opk on CD 12, which means I ovulate 24 - 48 hours later, right?

I feel fine for the most part. My running has been normal but I do get waves of nausua here and there. Not the signs I had when preg with my m/c or with lilly.

Very interesting. I have nothing useful to add, but it is quite curious!
