We went shopping this morning for groceries and wow, I can't believe all the stuff we used to eat! & how high in calories/fat it all was! I think since DH and I both started counting calories and watching fat, we've spent a whole lot less at the grocery store!

I looked at a box of oatmeal and couldn't believe how many calories were in ONE packet, and I usually would eat 2-3! Woza!

Scary, huh?!?! We actually spend MORE now that we're health conscious (and by "we" I mean "I" ) it's so much more expensive to buy fresh fruits and veggies than it is to buy a bag of chips or the canned varieties. It's a sad reality, and when you think about it, it's no wonder that the whole country is obese!

I totally understand Kim! I think part of the reason we're not spending as much is because we bujy way less junk. Some of the things we buy are more expensive but that part kinda evens out w/ not buying so much junk food (chips, donuts, cookies, candies ect).

I agree, it's so disheartening!

And yeah, it's SO eye-opening when you start paying attention to calories and such. It's like, whoa, no wonder I weighed so much.

It is more expensive to eat better it seems! I'm trying to make peace w/the higher grocery bills by hoping that eating healthy will = less Dr. bills for us and a better life.
