OK, wait, let me explain a little of the history...

I always wanted my sibsets to start with the same sound, so we were looking primarily at C/K names... DH would throw out a few others, and I found a couple B names I liked, but nothing seemed to fit...

Sooo...

On our short list, we had:

Kemper (my fave!)
Kellen
Callum
Kale
Cash

DH isn't 100% sold on Kemper, but it's in the back pocket if we get to have another boy.

So....

We decided on Kellen! DH likes that name best, and when I called baby boy Kemper, Callum, Kale or Cash, it just didn't fit as well. Kellen just seemed to fit. I still try it out and I think it's the perfect name.

For mn's...

I wanted a name close to my family, since DH's grandmother's name is Helen and people may think we did that on purpose (didn't, but if she wants to think we did, that's fine).

The only name in my family that I really like is Matteus, but DH didn't like it with Kellen... So, we went with Scott as the mn, after DH's brother who died at the tender age of 38, 8 years ago, from stomach cancer. Kellen Scott it is!

DH also told me if we get blessed with one more son, I get to name him Kemper Matteus

So, short story long, our little man will be Kellen Scott Due 9/9 and maybe making an appearance a tad earlier, as I'm measuring a bit bigger, swelling already, and my bp is slowly starting to rise again (exactly mirroring pregnancy with Kensley).

I have my GD test next week (ug) so FX that it's clear and we're still very healthy all in all!!!

Will he be my little strawberry blonde? (I refuse to quit having kids until I get my redhead!!! )

I love the name!!

As for the redhead thing - my best friend in HS was a red head, as was her brother, but neither parent was. It was the maternal grandmother that was a redhead and they told me that redheads skip a generation. I have no idea if that's true or if it was just the case in their family. Was either your mom or Dad a redhead?

Gillian... thanks! Yep everyone on my dad's side are redheads I mean EVERYONE. We went to a family reunion, and you'd swear it was a red-head convention. Of course, spouses usually aren't red's and my brother and a few of the other kids aren't reds, but it's pretty dominant on my dad's side! I pray I have at least 1!!!

Gwynne, I truly love it!

At 1st I was like Kellen? hmm weird. Then I kept saying kellen scott and then I started yelling it with your sweet little girls name and I was like, perfect!

I swear by yelling to pick out a name, example; "Thomas & Collin, you better knock it off/stop hitting/get to bed"

I knew I had done well with the baby naming when I yelled "Leo-NIDAS! Stop hitting Bram!" and it was totally natural.

I have a friend named Kellen. She's a girl, but she's an awesome person, so I have a positive association with the name.

My niece's name is Kellyn (spelled with the y to feminize it), but other than her I've only known boys with the name Kellen. I like it!

I stick my head out the door and yell for them to come in with the name I'm thinking over. LOL

I like Kellen Scott! Good pick, and I can't wait to see if you get your red-head this time!
