well that's not entirely true. i like a few but DH absolutely hates every one that i like. i really hope it's a girl (plus i have all the clothes and stuff already and i want another girl anyway). but seriously i sat on the couch and read 2 baby name books, i said the names i liked out loud and DH either said "hell no!", looked at me in disgust, or made some stupid association to a lame celebrity or a football player that he hates.

It took us forever to decide on a boy name. We didn't decide on his middle name for sure till he was born (we thought we had another 1 1/2 weeks to decide). Just keep thinking about different name combinations, and you'll find one that fits.

We had the opposite problem and had a really hard time coming up with a girls name and finally did come up with one a couple weeks before he was born.

It's tough when one or the other of you shoots down all the ideas, that happened with us too. We ended up making a list individually then we swapped list and scratched off anything we absolutely hated and left any name we could live with. We took the "could live with names" and each ranked them in preference (again on our own) and then picked the name that had the highest combined rank. Just writing that screams how analytical and anal I am, but it worked!

What about Walter? Samson's a good one too...
Boys names are hard. It'll come to you in time if you're having a boy.

Its hard to come up with names you agree on, a lot of names I was picking out for boys dh would compare them to soap stars, even though he has no clue about soaps, he just thought they sounded like soap names lol...men...I swear...ultimately it ends up being my decision but I want dh to like it too, we settled on Jacob only if dh could call him Jake and he does, guess it sounds more manly

I agree, boys name are hard. You should both make a list of say, 5 name you each like. Then go from there. Will you be finding out the gender?

I like classic boy names - Matthew, Christopher, Jake, Lucas...

They are tough. But I'm pretty picky about girl names too. (Bri picked Madison, I picked Alivia). If we have a boy it's going to be hard to stick to our A middle name tradition.

i do like more old school boys names, but Dh hates them all.
here's some that i like: Grover, Owen, Ralph, George, Lawrence, Louis.
dh replies with "muppet! Owen Wilson, kid from xmas story, george bush, LT, guy from revenge of the nerds."

i hope it's a girl.

THis is what I do. I don't even think of names until I know what I'm having. This is why i can't wait until birth to find out the sex.

i do like the name finn, but i know 3 baby finn's. too popular i think.

Finn was also my good family friend's baby who was born still just days before his due date. so i kind of associate the name with that.

Yeah Finn is getting super popular. My friend is expecting and she likes Finn, but it turns out there are like 4 Finns in the pre-school class that our kids are going to in the Fall.
