She is doing well. Dr called her a "spirited child" do to her demanding personality. We are on track with her discipline. She weighs 22.5 lbs (5 %) and 31.5 in tall (also 5%). She got two shots. She cried, but held on to my hands so hard. Dr wants us to start weaning her from her binky I don't know if I am ready to conquer that battle yet.

Sounds like she's doing great! Good luck with the binky! I'm so happy that Aaden weaned himself off his at 6 months old!

Yay for a good appointment! I'm so glad she's doing well! Did you end up asking about her being thirsty all the time?

We're in our own binkie weaning hell right now times two. We were going to wean Aiden before Maryella was born, but it didn't go well. I wound up with the emergency c-section and being in the hospital for 7 days, and it really threw a monkey wrench in our efforts. He was away from us for the first time ever, and it was the only thing that calmed him down when he was at my mom's for the week. When we got home he started to take hers when we wouldn't let him have his. He's only used it for sleep for the last 2 years, and his doctor and dentist are okay with that since he goes into super freak out mode to the point where he makes himself sick when we try and get rid of it. I have a feeling she is going to be the same way. I am going to consider that my summer project. I know that not everyone has the kind of hard time we've had with it though. Good luck with whatever you decide!!

I did, but she doesnt feel that 10-12 sippies is a lot for as active as she is and as much as shes outside (I know that is debatable since most toddlers are active and dont drink that much). Also it may be mimicking me since I have a drink at all times (I get dehydrated easily, especially during pregnancy). she does not have the other symptoms, but she goes back in 6 months and if she increases her drinking at all we will discuss testing to be on the safe side.

Thanks for asking.

She's a tiny little thing! But it sounds like she's doing well!

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the binky. Maybe limit it to just the bed or the car, but I don't think it's necessary to take it away all together. It's her security item and what makes her feel comfortable, I don't like the idea of just up and taking a security item away from a kid. She'll let you know when she's ready to be done with it. It might be another 6 months to a year, but she'll let you know. I wouldn't stress about it.

When Brinlee was 2.5 years old I talked to her about giving them to Santa. I told her he needed them to give the babies, but he'd bring her big girl toys in return. She was totally up for that idea and went with it. She never looked back! It was very stress-free for her (and myself!!) and I wouldn't do it any other way.

Basically what I'm saying is that if you can get her to agree to give them up and it's stress-free for her, then that's fine. But if she's going to cry for hours/nights/days without that pacifier... don't take it away from her.

We're going to try the same tactic with Isabel this winter, but if she doesn't go for it that's ok with me. I had mine until I was 4 I actually remember my parents taking it away from me. Perhaps that's why I feel the way I do?!

That is exactly how i imagined doing it! Glad to hear that it worked for you. I may be "babying" her too much, but I dont want to do too many changes that she is not ready for and then bring a new baby home in a few months. I want to worry about getting her us to having a baby in the house and adjusting to that then we will tackle binky and potty training!
