So, I am now over 20 weeks pregnant and looked down at my hand this morning and realized I still have my wedding ring on. AHHH, I can't get it off. I only tried for a few minutes with dish soap this morning but it wouldn't budge. I love my ring, what do I do? Do you guys know and good tricks?

I would rest with your hands elevated and with ice packs on them.. get them as cool as you can.. and then try (maybe with cool oil as well).

Otherwise, I have no idea.

I hope you get it off without damage to the ring or yourself.

Try Jewelry cleaner. That stuff is super slick and they should slide off pretty easy.

You are not a moron. I purposely kept mine on cause I hated to take them off. Then my fingers suddenly swelled more and I BARELY got them off. I thought for sure I was going to have to have one cut off.

You aren't a moron. It never occurred to me to take off my ring while preggo.

Soak your hand in ice water and then try baby oil or vaseline.

Well I tried the ice two more times today and liquid soap, I have to wait and try again tomorrow because I think trying has made it swell, and man did it hurt. I called a local jewelry repair shop and they said it would cost about $95 to $125 to fix each ring if I do have to cut them off. I guess if I can't get them off I will just wait and see what happens and if they get too tight cut them off. BOOO

Yikes! I'm glad I've never had that problem! When I had my rings resized the woman had me get them intentionally about a quarter size too big. So small enough to stay on, but big enough to keep on if/when I got pregnant. Then I lost weight and my hands shrunk. I actually had to take them off so they wouldn't fall off on their own...

I found this video, and I think I remember my mom used Windex to get her stuck ring off after the separation. Good luck!

Oh that sucks! I would try again tomorrow because you're right, the repeated attempts are probably just making the finger more swollen. Ice water an cooking oil were going to be my suggestion. I hope they come off for you!

You're not a moron! I've never taken my ring off during a pregnancy. It's not a rule that you have to.

Anyway, I hope you can give your fingers a rest and try some of the suggestions given to you.

Well you guys are making me feel better, maybe I won't take them off. I haven't tried again, I wanted to rest my hand a little first. I think I will try one more time and then if they don't come off wait and see what happens.
