Well first - everything is fine! I mentioned to my midwife at my regular appointment yesterday that I hadn't felt much movement lately, and had woken up that morning with menstrual type cramping and a lower back ache...thinking she would give me the explanation and i would go home. Well apparently those are the magic words that end you up in L&D on monitors, so that is where I spent 5 hours yesterday afternoon.
The monitors picked up a bunch of activity that I couldn't really feel, and then she really woke up when they gave me some apple juice and I could feel her acrobatics - apparently she was just waiting for a stage to perform. But I was still crampy so they sent me to U/S to make sure my fluid levels were ok and my cervix was still nice and closed, which it was and everything measured perfect. SHe is a little over 2 lbs, measuring right on track (I was nervous if you recall b/c of my lack of weight gain - I am still only about a half pound over my pre-pregnancy weight). So I guess I was dehydrated because after a bag of fluids, and two huge glasses of water I was feeling better. I felt like an idiot, but the nurses were SO nice and told me that I should always come in if I feel like that or feel like something is wrong - even if it turns out fine!
And baby is definitely a girl - she's so cute It was WEIRD to be back in the same L&D rooms where I had Keller - total flashback, there was even a Red Sox game on TV, which is what I watched during labor! haha. So I have been drinking a ton of water and fluids, apparently much more than I thought I needed. So that is definitely a lesson learned Thanks for reading! All is ok...I have so little time before I am back there again for real!! WOOHOO!
Phew I got all nervous when I saw this. I am glad everything is okay. I recall I was drinking over two gallons of water a day. lol I had low fluid though so that is why. I am glad to know you just need to drink more fluids!
