I can't remember how far along I was when we first heard Jakes HB. I had an OB appt yesterday and I was 9 weeks 2 days. We attempted to hear the HB but we couldn't. She said its normally around 12 to 13 weeks. Does that sound about right to you? Alot of the girls in my DDC have already heard theirs at 8 or 9 weeks. Some of them their Dr's wouldn't even try because they said it was still too early. I'm not freaking out or anything. I have alot of confidence in this pregnancy. Especially considering how sick I've been. I'm just curious. Do you remember when you heard the HB for the first time?

By Doppler it is very rare to hear it before 11-12 weeks. I heard each kid between 11-13 wks.

Are you sure they don't mean by ultrasound? I saw each kids hb between 6-8 wks..

I saw both girls' HB at around 6 weeks. I heard them both at my next appointment after that, so around 10 weeks. My Dr. was surprised both times actually because that is early.

No not with an ultra sound. Actually alot of them have purchased their own dopplers. I'll just hope to hear it at 12 weeks. We should be able to hear it by then. Thanks

Yeah, I didn't hear it until 14 weeks. I saw it at the early ultrasound and then when I was around 10 weeks we didn't hear it so he took a portable ultrasound and we saw it.

If they're hearing it via their own doppler I would assume they are not really hearing it. JMO.

I actually don't remember by doppler, just that u/s was at 6 weeks. I know for sure it was after I started seeing my regular OB and I'm guessing it was in around 12 weeks.

My uterus is really tilted back, so I couldn't hear either girls' heartbeats until after 14 weeks. At both of my 12 week appointments I had an u/s to confirm everything was still okay because the dopplar couldn't pick it up.

my opinion about them saying that they are hearing the baby's heartbeat, is that they are probably hearing their own heartbeat and assuming it is the baby's heartbeat....

I am "hoping" to hear the heartbeat tomorrow at the midwife's office, and I will be 11w, 5d....

With my OB you have your first appt around 8-9 weeks and then every 4 weeks for the next few months after. So at 12 weeks was the first we tried with Maddie. With #2 baby didn't make it that far.
