I had just barely heard of it (b/c of Kate Middleton) so I had to look it up. I guess I am pretty much doing this diet, except a lot of my proteins come from the foods supplied by the clinic. How's it going?? I saw your ***** kicking comment on FB

OMG, guys. It's working. It's WORKING!

I'm on Day 3 - I lost 2lbs yesterday morning and 1 today, so I've lost a total of 3lbs in 3 days. I'm in the Attack phase, and if I keep losing at this rate, I will have about 10-15 more days to go. Then you can reintroduce vegetables into your diet.

I'm pumped.

Alright Jilly, spill it what is the diet? what do I need to do? I took its little quiz and it told me I can be 18lbs lighter by August 2nd.. So give me the scoop

Did it tell you any supplements/vitamins to take? My clinic has me on about a zillion different things - some that help with weight loss and some that help supplement nutrition that you aren't getting b/c my diet is so low calorie.

I take

Calcium, Vitamin D, and Magnesium
Potassium (prescription)
Chromium
L-carnitine (helps your body metabolize fat)
CLA blend (helps improve food intake efficiency and how your body metabolizes
Omega 3s and 6s
A multivitamin (yes, on TOP of everything else)

Plus I get a B6/B12/amino acid shot every week.

I'm not sure if you can do it while BFing, but here are the deets:

4 phases: Attack, Cruise, Consolidation, Stabilization.

I'm doing Attack right now. ALl you eat - literally - is lean protein. Turkey, tenderloin, fish, tofu. You get 1.5 tbsp of oat bran a day. Attack lasts 5-10 days.

Then you move on to Cruise, where you alternate between all protein one day and protein and veg the next day.

When you hit your goal you go to Consolidation, where you slowly add in carbs & fruit.

Then you hit Stabilization, where you manage to maintain your goal. Forever. You do one day of pure protein every week for the rest of your life.

This is the diet that the Middletons (Kate, Pippa and the mom) went on to lose weight for the royal wedding. Since they all look like a million bucks, I'm trying it.

Oh, and you have to drink oodles & scads of water. Here's the site that I'm using (my mom has the book and is doing it right now, so if I need details I can call her and have her check.)

I'm on Day 3 and it's getting challenging... I kept thinking about frozen yogurt and strawberries today. However, I want to get to 125, and as of this morning, I was 134. That's pretty awesome. If I can do another 9 days I SHOULD be ready to go for Cruise. I just keep reminding myself that this is my 30th birthday gift to myself! Less than 3 months to go, so I need to keep working!

Em, about the vitamins, they do suggest a multivitamin.

Did you know that body fat is broken down into water and carbon dioxide by your organs and the ONLY ways you can get rid of it is to pee it out, and a small amount by sweating it out. That's one reason why you have to drink so much water b/c that's the only way to flush out fat...if you don't drink enough then the toxins from the fat back up into your kidneys, which stop functioning properly b/c they think they are being poisoned, and then you don't lose weight. Once I realized that when I peed I was literally peeing out my fat - I was ready to drink a swimming pool!! LOL

Hey, did you find (sorry for the TMI) that you um, pooped WAY less on the protein heavy diet?

Yeah, I got nervous and started downing Metamucil like it was my job. But it wasn't really necessary LOL

Fascinating! I'm starting a new round of the hGC diet next week. It's pretty intense too, and the results are about the same, so I'm super excited!
