Anybody done interval training before? I just signed up for 15 weeks of it and I start today. I've heard people pee a bit or even throw up after these workouts! I'm pretty nervous! Anyone got any tips?
But not cause I'm a weenie (okay, mostly not cause I'm a weenie.)
I booked the class thinking it as in the same facility as the Kindercare I had booked for Ruby, but it wasn't - and I couldn't use the Kindercare if I wasn't in the same building. So the rec centre kindly switched out my registration fee to a drop in gym pass for the next 10 weeks along with Ruby's Kindercare punch card, so I just ran for 25 minutes and did some free weights. Still felt pretty good, although I didn't pee (or barf.)
I want to start doing intervals this fall. I'm only going to do 10 minutes though, because as you say, they are really intense. I'll probably do 30 seconds on, 30 seconds active rest.
I did this last year for about 3 months and it made NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL to my weight or figure but I figure I will need to exercise in some form this winter and since this only takes 10 minutes, it's my pick.
In fact, for me, I think running for 25 minutes would be harder, so I'm sure you'll get just as good a workout doing that.
