Do you read to your LO before bed? Do you do it each night, some nights only, etc.? Who picks the story, you or they?

I read the girls a story every night (some days DH does). They take turns picking a book, unless it's a book that has multiple stories, and then we just read them in order. The only nights we skip is if we got home super late for some reason or if they've been naughty, etc. but that rarely happens that we skip!

Yep, every night unless he's asleep in the car and we carry him in, or he's been bad. He picks. Usually I read it, both kids have a thing about making ME bring them to bed - its tiring. LOL

My kids are the same way - they want ME to put them to bed, not daddy, unless I'm out (or hidden in our bedroom with the door closed, asleep). I used to read to the boys together, alternating who picks, but lately Eric has preferred to go to bed and read for himself a bit. I still read to Danny, and once in a while I pick, but usually he does...and he always picks the same book, lol.

We read every single night, unless we get home late - but I have to say that very rarely happens.

My kids also make me put them to bed. There are some occassions he will read to them, which is a nice break.

Eh, sometimes we do, sometimes we don't. Lily reads before bed on her own and Julia is starting to do that as well. Kate sometimes asks for a book, sometimes we offer, sometimes we skip.

This will make me sound terrible but I rarely read to Mia before bedtime. Instead she asks me to sing to her or there is a story I made up about a kitten and a princess that she likes me to tell her. And if I dare accidentally skip a part of the story she lets me know about it, LOL.

Every night, usually Hugo picks, and if it's an easy book he rereads the story back to me after I read it to him so usually we plan on just one or two for time's sake.
