I was planning to announce my pregnancy to my parents/family on Christmas morning by putting an ultrasound picture inside a wrapped gift box and shipping it to them to open on Christmas. I don't know why, but that idea had me really excited! Well, I just found out that I definitely won't be able to get in for an ultrasound until after Christmas so now I don't know what to do. I think pregnancy hormones are making this seem like a much bigger deal than it actually is. But can somebody help me come up with a new idea that is just as fun? Keep in mind, we live out of state so it has to be something we can do long distance.
What if London opens a present from Santa on Sykpe? The gift could be an "I'm a big sister shirt".
Or do a Skype session with you folks and say, "oh, we have one more gift for you, but you have to wait for it." Then stand up in front of the camera so they can see your belly wearing a shirt that says something like "Do not open until around...."
Thanks for asking Shannon! I actually did tell my parents last night but I became too impatient to do anything fancy. I had my first ultrasound yesterday morning and I was just so excited that I had to tell them right away. So I sent an e-mail with two pictures; one of London in a 'big sister' shirt and one of the ultrasound photo. Then I called my mom and told her that I sent a picture of their Christmas present because I didn't make it to the post office. As soon as she opened the attachments, she was soooooo excited! Both of my parents were over the moon and completely shocked. So, all in all, it wasn't fancy but it was still perfect.
