Are any of you working out in the yard these days?

I finally planted flowers and some shrubs in our yard after 2 years. It looks so pretty with all the blooming buds. Makes me wonder why I did just do it sooner.
Actually, I know why I didn't do it sooner.....I really don't like working in the yard
Plus, I'm always unsure of what I want to do and if it will look good. Yesterday I stopped by one of the gardening stores and just picked out the plants that appeal to me. Much to my surprise, it actually looks pretty good.

Yes. It's hard working in the yard with a 13 month old. He crawls around in the grass but it isn't long before he starts trying to eat mulch, grass, my plants. I spent hours outside last week pulling weeds. I just pulled them in the fall but they grew and spread substantially over the winter. I also mowed the lawn last week for the first time this year. We have work to do in the yard but it doesn't involve planting new plants. Our plants look great!

Well, I'm not. It has only just warmed up here and we still have snow on the ground, which I HOPE is gone this weekend. I do have some tulips, daffodils and hollyhocks sticking out of the ground but it's going to be awhile, maybe a good month, before I'm actually working in the yard. And by that time, it'll be my boys working in the yard because I hope I have a baby by then!
