Well, my last chance has come to an end. I knew I was getting close but Ihonestly thought I would get one last chance. If we failed 4 in two years, hehad to submit a package on us to request to retain or discharge us. The onlyreason I failed this last time was because of my waist so it sucks. I passedeverything else but that doesn’t matter. I was making some huge changes this time around. I started seening a doctor for the weight gain but nothing in my blood work. She gave me some weight loss pills that have been helping loss the pounds but I guess its just too late... Now I just want to stay healthy for myself.

The wing commander decided to use our only last PT score to approve ordisapprove the retaining. So needless to say… my time has come to an end. I cansubmit a request that my package goes to the discharge review board but honestlythey are looking to bring our numbers down. I had high hopes that the wingcommander would give some of us one last chance but that was crushed yesterday.

Now my biggest worry is medical insurance. I use Tricare reserve which I canonly use if I’m an active member of the reserve. Our company does offer insurance but we arenot in the enrollment time frame right now. Mine isn’t until the end of Oct andRyan I believe he said some time in the summer.

Sorry to hear that ...as for your insurance even though your open enrollment isn't until later if you have a a "life change event" you should be able to enroll now, losing your current insurance generally counts as a life change event, so you should check with your HR department, I work in insurance and that is generally how it works! Good luck! Sorry the reserves came to an end, good for you though for getting healthy for you! Hugs!

I made a few phone calls today and we are able to get our companies insurance. Now I"m just trying to figure out which one we should. Mine or my husband. They have been allowing me take care of stuff like go to tricare office and talk to them since that is what i currently have.

Since you work with insurance maybe you can explain this to me... if I'm understanding it correctly. For pharmacy-we pay out of pocket until we reach the max $3000.
for the first plan for family and then its free but we have to pay up to $3000 first right?

UHC EPO Plan
Separate Pharmacy Out-of-Pocket
$1,500 Individual/$3,000 Family

Preferred PPO Plan
Separate Pharmacy Out-of-Pocket
$2,000 Individual/$4,000 Family

yes, from what that says you would pay out of pocket until you reached the max amt. Sort of like how a deductible works.

an EPO plan is typically one that you must use in network providers for, a PPO plan is typically one in which you can see in or out of network providers though out of network providers will in most/almost all instances have a higher copay/coinsurance/deductible......I am assuming UHC is United Healthcare? I don't work for that company so I can't be sure of the specifics but reading what you posted it appears that would be the case. Just be sure to read the fine print and pick the plan that will work best for you! Insurance is complicated and I deal with it everyday! ha!

thank you. I hate trying to figure out insurance junk... I've been looking at my company and Ryan company... I'm going to miss paying less then 200 monthly. I put up with a lot of crap in the reserve but insurance cost was worth it.

Cyndee, Thank you. I think their new rules for PT is stupid and since the change I haven't been able to pass expec twice. sucks. This time just the waist which is stupid. Really... I can do everything else but because my waist isn't as small as you want I fail... whatever... okay, this became a vent. it just sucks. Everyone agrees with your statement. Everyone I work with know they are losing a great worker and someone they look up to for help and information. If I didn't know, I found the answer.

They all wanted me to try to fight it but really I look at my track record and I don't have much weight to stand on to fight for. Since leaving active duty and after having Preston it has been all failures expect twice. They will not keep me in. They military is trying to downsize. As much as it hurts saying bye to it all, i'm ready to move on.

I'm so sorry Lisa. We've been there and it really stinks. Unfortunately, it seems to be much more common than it used to be and more common than people realize. Take care of yourself and your family during this time. I would also recommend finding a new activity or hobby to help maintain your sense of identity during the transition. Allow yourself time to be sad, but think of it as an opportunity for a new beginning. Best of luck!

wow less than 200 is awesome. I pay $450 a month for maddies health and dental alone. our work only covers dh and I Separately with our indv. employers.

The fact that this 'sequester' bs is in effect doesn't help. I wish our gov't would get it the F together!

here is an update.

so I called my first 1st sergent (she is incharge of all enlisted people) and told her what I decided. They way I was notified of the seperation wasn't right and she was pissed. I found out she took it to the JAG (legal office) and MSG commander and reported the situation and how it all happend. I wasn't notified by her or my commnader. I was told to report to a room and the NCO thought I knew and read what it stated and had me sign stating I received it.

So I decided the least I could do is to fight it. She said it could take up to 2 years. Write a letter about what I'm doing to improve and I think i will add my military career in there... they will have it all but to see it coming from me might be different.
