Okay, so I got out of the shower the other day and noticed that I seem to be really swollen "down there" - its also a dark purplish color. I have never seen it like this before..I am guessing this is normal, but it just feels bigger down there the last few days. Anyone else experience this?

It is completely common in pregnancy! It is caused from the extra blood flow to that area! I am with you on this!

Yep....just one more of the many fun things that happen during the 3rd trimester! It got worse for me last time the closer I got to my due date because of all the pressure.

It would be nice if I could see it. It seems to have dissapeared like my feet and my knees! But as Jaime said it is caused by the increased blood flow to the area, so don't stress.

I know in early pregnancy that is called chadwicks sign. It is where it turns purpleish blue color and even you cervix turns that color. You can just google chadwicks sign and it will tell you about it

Oh yes, count me in. I couldnt get over it either, even though I know it happens- I just couldnt believe how MUCH bigger and how badly swollen it gets, LOL! I mentioned in in Tonyas post the other day about sex- as it has affected my sex life. It makes me wonder if it hurt so much to have an internal exam done (at the Dr last Friday) and it hurts so much to be intimate with DH- how on EARTH am I going to push a 9lb baby through it? Oy!
