Ok so let me start out by saying WOW, there are SOOO many options I truly had no idea, i just remember the way my mom did it back in the day.. anyway I was wondering if anyone could offer me any BTDT advice on which ones they think are better? Also maybe a few good places to buy them from? I really want to cloth diaper at least while Im home with her and Im hoping to only use disposables when we travel, anyway I started looking at cloth diapers the last few weeks and I am LOST......LOL

There are a lot of options.... which I think is really nice because all babies are different and fit into diapers differently. Also, family's needs are also different, and some think AIOs (all-in-ones) are the best for their family, while others love pre-folds or flats. You should check out the cloth diapering forum here at JM... or join diaperswappers.com

Lots and lots of great information out there!!!

I love the bumGenius diapers. Fuzzi Bunz are good, too. The best place to buy from hands down is http://www.abbyslane.com She ships super fast and the customer service is great. If you join her YahooGroup you'll get a code for 5% off your order, too.

well it really would depend on what kind of time and effort youwant to put into it.

If youwant them to be as simple as disposables, then all-in-ones would be great, but they take a long time to dry from what I have heard.

Personally I am going with pockets and pre-folds.

Pre-folds would be bascially what they used to use, and they also require a seperate cover.

Pockets ie Fuzzi Bunz and Bum Genius and other great names are also very close to being like a disposable except that there is a pocket that you put the insert into to absorb the pee and whatnot.....these are also great cuz you can put more than one insert into them to make them double absorbant.

I like this site for buying my pockets and pre-folds nickisdiapers.com

But there is also this option. Kelli, is actually a member of JustMommies, and she has her own at-home business of making Cloth Diapers. Her site is TKCuddlers.com She makes All-In-Ones, Pockets, Covers, and other accesories.....She is awesome!! I just ordered 10 covers from her and i can't wait till they get here!!!! I will of course post pics of them when they do....ummm give me a few minutes and I will find a post on the CD Forum with her work in it....Be back in a moment!

Ok here are some of her AIO's http://www.justmommies.com/boards/in...owtopic=986419

But it shows both kinds the aplix and S-hooks I love her cuz you can get custom diapers made if you want.....I told her to just have fun, so when my covers get here I will post them for sure!! But its worth it to check out her gallery on her site!!

We chose to go with cloth made from natural fibres. I got some hemp/organic cotton prefolds and wool covers that are made locally here from JamTots. I like the idea that we can also use the prefolds as wipes. I purchased the wool covers mainly for outings in case we can't change baby right away. We are planning on trying natural infant hygiene so a diaper that is simple and not too bulky works for us.

My DH struggled with it for a while too, but I basically just started buying the cloth diapers and when they showed up at the doorstep he couldn't really do anything about it

well, i absolutely love cloth diapering. my favorite is tkcuddlers. you can only buy them at tkcuddlers.com. she is a SAHM.

i also love fuzzibuns. i buy from duckybunsetc.com and cottonbabies.com. for some reason i really didn't like bum genius. they are awful on ds and a complete waste of money for me. i am way in the minority, though.

i've never cd-ed a newborn before, but i'm excited about the stock i'm building up. I've got snappis and kissaluvs and there's a couple of others I'm going to try. they look so small and cute! good luck! this is a fun time!

I am doing CD this time at least half of the time also. I choose Bum Genius 3.0 because it was as close and convenient at a disposable. The BG is an All-In-One One Size option that the baby can use from I think 8lbs to like 35 lbs. When I got my first shipment I tried them on my son who is about 28 lbs and they fit him wonderfully. He is 2 1/2 and potty trained during the day but is no where near close to holding it night so I had him wear one to bed to see how it held up. It was amazing! They didn't leak and he kept telling me how soft they were so after that I bought 10 more. I have bought from cottonbabies.com and naturalbabies.com who are both wonderful. Natural Babies has a layaway so you put a certain % down and have 3 months to finish the balance which is awesome because the initial CD investment can be expensive. Good luck! There are alot of options out there.

Just to clarify, bumGenius one size diapers are NOT all-in-ones. They are pocket diapers meaning you have to stuff the insert into the pocket before using it. bumGenius also has all-in-ones, but they are not one size.
