Stepping down

Ok so I am going to put my request in to step down as host. It seems that our board is officially deceased and I am lost as to how to revive it. Seems like its beyong revival. I am sad but I posted a topic just to see if Id get any replies and it has been several days and there are none. Im glad I got to host for awhile, just too bad it was at the end and it seems like the board died when I became host --if not before.

Jess, I definitely do not think it was you, it was definitely before... which is why I stepped down as well. I would say that most boards start to dwindle away as the kids get older, some faster and some slower... I will say that ours was pretty quick though.

I really am not on JM as much as I used to be, other than on the Car Seat Safety board (which I still co-host) but even my activity there has slowed down.

I, too, am at a loss for what to do for our board. It seemed like not too many people checked in with JM anymore, but we had each other as "friends" on FB... which is why I created that group on there. The group was NEVER meant to take away from here, and I don't think it did. When that group was created there were only a handful of people posting here on JM (maybe 5 from time to time?) but there were over 30 of us on FB. It seems like FB is a more common ground, people check it more often and can easily get on there from their phones. I can't get on JM from my phone. I also know that I had asked, several times, for our playroom to be merged with another playroom (May? July?) in hopes to keep our group afloat, but that request was never granted (not sure why).

It's definitely not you, Jess. The board has been dying for quite some time. I know May seems to be having the same problem. I have been expecting them to merge us for quite some time. They usually do that when multiple boards in the same time period slow down. I don't know what could make it better, but I know it's not you.

I agree with Erica & Lori, the board was dying long before you ever became a host. Even a year and a half ago when I was a host, it was dying. I check-in here every few days, but that's it.

I rarely check this board. I'm super active in my DDC and the board that I host, but I hardly ever check in here.

Theo's not even a year old and FB has killed his PR on JM. There are *maybe* 3 posts a day on there. So, no, do not worry about what your hosting did to the board. You were a perfectly good host. Thank-you for all your work!

I just want to make it clear that I thought this PR was already dead when I created the group for us on FB, which is why I created it.

There were only a handful of us posting here, but I had 30+ ladies that USED to post here in the PR on my FB friends list that I would see posting regularly to their page. Since this PR was already inactive, I thought it would be an ok place to try to bring us all back together. It was hopping for a while, but even it has slowed down too.

It happens. Nothing can prevent it. Kids get older, more active. I left quite awhile ago & I can promise you, Jess, it was not because of you becoming host. I think you did a great job trying to revive an already "gone" board. It's hard.

Hi there. I was just poking and going to join in, but it seems this board has met the fate of many other boards all over the net - Facebook is easier to manage, check in, and post on. A lot of boards go that route - there's nothing anyone can do to stop it - and realistically, most are happy with only one board and will not return to a regular board. If you don't mind, I'd love to join in there if this board is moot. I have a little girl born June 5th, 2008.
