This might turn into a long story...

For those who read my post earlier today - I shared that I had some spotting recently. I called my doctor's office and they got me in for an u/s today at 4:45. I go in - do the abdominal with a VERY, VERY, VERY full bladder - but the guy can't really see anything...he chalks it up to being very early in the pregnancy. So I empty my bladder and come back in for a transvaginal. Poking and prodding and all that fun stuff - he finds "what he believes" to be a sac - but no fetal pole. He measured me out at 5 weeks 1 day and 4 weeks 5 days (you know how they always do 76 different measurements)...he basically led me to believe that the results were inconclusive. Could be too early to see a fetal pole - then again - beings that my LMP was May 21st - I should be showing a fetal pole by now.

Here's the thing - I did the ovulation predictor tests on June 8, June 9 & June 10. All of the times I did them - the line that needed to be darker (to predict pending ovulation) wasn't....so I'm thinking I didn't ovulate until the latter part of that week. Which in thinking like that, I very well could only be 5 weeks.

I'm trying girls. I'm just trying to make sense of all this. I'm hoping my little bean is ok. Am I grasping? Anybody going through this - or been through this?

Your thoughts and prayers and posts are GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks in advance!

Kelly

Did you get to see your actual doctor? I am becoming more and more thankful that my doctor has done my ultrasounds. I hope and pray you get good news at your next appt. I'll be thinking of you, Kelly.

My first scan showed that I was 6 weeks when I was actually seven weeks with no hb. The second one at 9 weeks showed the hb and I was also measuring accurately. Be patient it could just be too early.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and I hope everything turns out fine for you as well!

Awww, don't worry just yet. I had a similar situation. I had some spotting about a week ago my last LMP was May 13th so when you use that circle predictor thing it says I am 8 weeks when in reality I have a lot longer cycle and I didn't ovulate until JUNE. So I am really only about 7 weeks if that. I went to the ER last week they did a vaginal u/s and they couldn't find a fetal pole. The very next day i got into my OB and he did a vaginal u/s and found a fetal pole, printed me off 5 pics and I even saw the flickering! He asked me to come back 1 week later(which was this past wed) and did another u/s and I got to see AND HEAR the baby heartbeat. And the baby tripled in size. But Each time I got an u/s they measured my baby at a different due date. SO point of my huge novel i just wrote...please don't worry just yet, if I would have listened to the ER, i would have been a mess. It's just SO hard to determine anything this early on. Only time will tell. I will cross my fingers for you. I hope that helped a little.

Dont worry most woman DO NOT ovulate on the "14" day like they the doctors claim. SO it is quite possible that you ovulated later in the week maybe even the next week.
You know your body, you know how your feeling, follow that!
KUP and hugs. We are all here for you no matter what happens but listen to your body, your heart and you will find the answers there.

It sounds like you just ovulated later then you thought and your u/s was just done a tad early. Did your doc schedule another one for you in a week or so? And spotting in early pregnancy is so common.. I know it's all scary but really try not to worry, that stress doesn't do you or your lil bean any good.

Big ditto. With Alex, after my US my due date was changed to one week later than by LMP. I was expecting the same this time, but it is now two weeks later. My LMP was 27 April, I got a positive test 3 June, and my due date is 14 Feb.

I hope you have another US and find that all is good. It's easy for us to say, but try not to worry.

This happened to me! I was so sure I had ovulated on the 9th of May but turns out it was more like the 13th....I have a tilted uterus so when I went in they couldn't even see a fetal pole or yolk sac at 6 weeks 1 day...but a second opinion the following week showed a baby measuring 7 weeks 3 days! Keep your chin up and hope for the best!
