I know a lot of you BTDT mommies are already feeling your baby's first movements, and even some of you ladies who haven't had a baby before. With your first child, when did you REALLY start to feel your baby move/kick? Not just the every now & then flutter, but an everyday/more than once a day movements? Also, were you really tiny (as in skinny). I am wondering if this extra "padding" i've put on while being pregnant is going to make it take far into the 2nd trimester to start feeling movements. I didn't even respond in the wt check. I've gained more than ALL of you guys lol! My morning sickness was hardly there... it was just nausea on and off & carbs helped, so I am already feeling like a hippo. Haha
I know they say 1st time moms usually begin feeling no-doubt kicks and movements between 18-26 weeks. I don't want to be 26 weeks before I feel my baby!!!!
I want to say I was around 20 wks when I felt DS everyday. the first movements started around 13 wks though.
I was and am not tiny but I am not to overweight either.[/b]
I'm not overweight either. I was a size 2 pre-pregnancy and I was SOOO careful with what I ate. Well... not so much anymore and it shows. I lost weight about a year ago... well over 100 lbs to be exact so I have pants sizes going all the way down. Right now I am currently wearing size 8 American eagle jeans most days. They are big in the legs but ok in the tummy. I ordered some maternity jeans from Old navy, I figure those will fit much better. I also have no exercised at ALL during this pregnancy and I was religious about it before. All of those factor combined have caused me to gain weight. My metabolism is also slower b/c I have suffered from an eating disorder for a long time and have yo-yo'd with my wt. Some days I feel like going into DTs over this wt gain... but I know it will be okay, and now I am really trying to watch the wt gain and eat heathily. I did walk a couple of days last week and I plan to do it more routinely as my energy rises. Thanks for your input!
Well, I know that I was feeling movements before my big u/s. And I was about 85% sure that it was the baby. But, at my u/s appointment I could feel him when I saw him moving, so I knew it then. I had an earlier u/s, too. I think I was just over 18 weeks. And that was kicks, not just the bubbles. I just started feeling the bubbles this week with this one (I think! haha!). Oh - and I was a size 8/10 before getting pregnant (both times!) so I definitely have a little bit of padding. And, here goes TMI - just to forewarn! I have a tilted uterus and I had an anterior placenta (on the front of my belly instead of in the back like normal.) So, I never had super strong kicks, as I had the placenta buffering the kicks as well as my chub-a-lub. And I still could feel them! It won't be long, I promise! And, I'm really proud of you for being brave enough to share your eating disorder with us. Remember that you're already feeding the baby, so don't skimp! It's not that hard to drop the pounds afterward.
For me the flutters with #1 came around week 17 and by week 20 I was definitely getting kicks. I started feeling flutters around week 13 this time.
With number 1 I was working out and eating really healthy all through first trimester and the beginning of the second tri, but I had ample padding...I am a size 12 when I am in shape and not pregnant for pants (size 8 for tops), but I am also 5'7". Feeling kicks was not a problem no matter how much padding I had.
With my first I didn't feel him until a bit after 20 weeks. My placenta was at the front so it made it more difficult to feel movements. Once I felt those first kicks though it was fairly continuous after that. With my daughter I didn't feel her first movements until around 16/18/20 weeks ~ can't remember for sure but I know it wasn't as early as many others seem to be feeling things but it was earlier than with my first. It wasn't long after that I began to feel regular movements with her too. So far I haven't felt any movements this time around either but I'm also not really expecting to this early
I felt movement at around 20 weeks and I was in a size 4 at the time. This time, I started feeling little bubbles last Monday, and now I'm feeling little taps and wooshies a few times every day! I started this pregnancy in a 12, too, so I'm definitely not thin. I could've worn an 8/10 but my c'section caused a lot of extra skin right around my tummy to just sit around. My legs and rear are always really baggy with pants. I am showing a TON right now! I definitely look 4-5 months pregnant.
About 19 or 20 weeks when I started feeling dd every day. I can't wait for that with this one. I can feel this baby every once in awhile but want to feel my bean daily!

Oh, I really don't remember, but it was rather far along. Towards the end, that was ALL I could feel... her tuckush stuck under my ribs - holy gawd.....
with Sebi I definitely felt him at 17 weeks...this pregnancy I felt things but second guessed myself but within the past few weeks I can say that I have definitely felt the baby

WIth my 1st, I first felt her at 16 weeks. It was by 20 weeks that I could feel the kicks and rolling around! DH first felt the kicks at about 24 weeks... (if I'm remembering correctly)...

i have no idea when i felt it w/ my first lol, maybe i should've written it down. i don't think it matters too much if you're overweight or not (which a size 8 is not! so don't worry) cuz you feel it from the inside not out. i always described it to my hubby as someone poking you or kicking you... but from the inside of your body. i haven't felt it this time yet, but it's very early. i'm not expecting to feel it until closer to 20 wks.
I was very overweight with my last baby 11 years ago and not quite as overweight but still large with the previous two. I think I felt them all giving good kicks around weeks 18-20. I'm much smaller than I've ever been and I'm feeling the same feelings I felt at this stage before so my opinion is that your size won't affect how much you feel the baby.
