Do you think the chances are good for me to hear our babies heartbeat by doppler at this point? (I'll be 11 weeks, 3 days tomorrow). I have my 2nd appointment tomorrow and my DR. said we'd be trying for the heartbeat. I don't have an ultrasound (my first one) for another 7-9 weeks, I get just one) so I would love to be assured that everything is progressing and going ok. I'm pretty sure it is- can someone have such bad morning sickness and no thriving baby in there? I feel very pregnant. I've had many symptoms right from the start, and they've not ended (morning sickness has improved, but I'm also on occassional medication for it, and a lot of time has passed since I first had it).
I just get nervous reading so much online, which I should not do! People who go in and find no heartbeat- it's making me a bit nervous for tomorrow.
For you ladies that have already had children- do you recall how many weeks you were when you first heart the heartbeat with a doppler?
I would think you would be able too by then ,but sometimes depending on where the baby is laying it still maybe to hard to find it.. I really hope so....!!!!!!! I agree about the internet. I try not to search anything about the baby because all it does is scare me and makes me wonder....
I had an ultrasound early because of spotting with my DD, but I thought they did the doppler every single month after that. From reading other posts here, I see that might not be the norm. I'm going to a new place now, and I hope they do that because it was awesome.
Maybe if they can't find the heartbeat (not unlikely, at this stage) they might consider doing just a little u/s, to set your mind at rest? No harm in asking, right?
I'm sure they'd be able to hear your little one by then. If not, maybe you'll get an US! But its not uncommon for some to not hear the HB till 12-14ish weeks.
I have a doppler here at home and I have picked it up since 10 weeks... But like others have said not everyone picks it up at the same time... Good luck let us know...

I will for sure. It's in the morning (9am)- took a 1/2 day from work- I'll update as soon as I possibly can (probably on my lunch break).. I'm crossing my fingers he can hear it!
Good luck on your dr. appt!!!! i think the first time we heard HB with the Doppler was 12 weeks but i had never had one before then so im not sure if he would have been able to pick it up before then. it all depends on how the baby is in your uterus too!! GL!
