Mother Saves Unborn Baby’s Life.

New product available in Canada can greatly reduce complications during pregnancy

Delta, BC. – December 12, 2008 – Fetal dopplers are becoming very popular among pregnant women. In fact using a fetal doppler during pregnancy can save your baby’s life, such as it did for Angela Portnoff.

Early in her pregnancy, Angela Portnoff purchased a Hi Bebe fetal doppler in order to monitor her baby’s heartbeat at home. “I had a previous miscarriage and was looking for a little bit of reassurance. I purchased the doppler when I was 10 weeks along. I used the doppler about once a day, just enough to make me feel better.”

Portnoff developed complications during her pregnancy that required she have non-stress tests, twice a week, to check on the baby. On November 11, after a seemingly normal stress test things took a turn for the worst. “On Tuesday, November 11, I went for my non-stress test which was normal. As the day went along, I began to feel less movement from my baby. I used the Hi Bebe doppler and noticed that my baby's heart rate dramatically dropped. I jumped in my car and headed to the hospital. Upon arriving, I was put on a monitor and yes, his heart rate was very low. I was rushed into surgery and had an emergency c-section 30 minutes after my arrival.”

During the emergency c-section doctors discovered the reason for the baby’s low heart rate. “His umbilical cord was wrapped tightly around his neck. The doctors believe that he wouldn't have survived the night had I not used the doppler and gotten myself to the hospital” A healthy baby boy was born on Nov 11,.2008 at 8:02 PM. Portnoff states “Because of my doppler, my little boy is here and healthy”

Fetal dopplers are typically used by doctors to detect a fetal heartbeat after 10-12 weeks. In the past, fetal dopplers were too expensive for the average pregnant women to afford. However, since the development of the new, affordable Hi Bebe fetal doppler, pregnant women are now able to purchase their own fetal doppler for use at home. Using a fetal doppler at home not only provides reassurance for the mother, but it may very well be the most important safety measure you can provide for your child. As Angela Portnoff explains, “The Hi Bebe Baby Doppler that I purchased at the beginning of my pregnancy was the best purchase I've ever made. It saved my baby's life!”

I rented one with my last pregnancy but didn't this time. Makenna wasn't a very active baby so it was a sanity saver. This baby is very active though so it's been reassuring.

thats great that the baby is ok. I do wonder where that was published though (just as the brand was named - makes me wonder if its almost a marketing techinique by the company)
