Okay so things are still keeping me down in the dumps and I think I'm going to blame it mostly on exhaustion. This pregnancy is really taking all my energy. Is it ever going to end? I believe I mentioned that at my last appointment, I had an ultrasound that dated me about 7 days behind.... changing my EDD to July 29 (I know my siggy still says July 24, I never changed it to the 22 after I had my first OB appointment). Anyway, at my appointment today, it was suppose to be the first day that we got to hear the heartbeat. Well, my doctor couldn't find it, so of course I was silently freaking out just a TAD! He tried for a while, I don't know how long, but it seemed like forever. Finally he decided to get the u/s machine brought to the room. It only took a few short seconds to find it with the u/s.... 151 bpm! And while he was trying to get the exact bpm, my little bean was doing a breakdance! I watched him/her do a somersault! We could see the little fingers and toes and the spine looked good. I laughed when I saw how much my little bean was moving around in there. My doc said the reason he wasn't picking up the bpm easily was because of the position..... head down spine up, so the spine and ribcage was blocking it. He was able to pick it up once he knew exactly where to look with the u/s. So we were finally able to hear it as well, but it was quieter than normal because he/she was still spine up. So in a way, I guess it's good that my doc wasn't able to find the hb with the doppler, cuz then I wouldn't have been able to see my little baby. OH..... AND, I had mentioned to him that I didn't understand how it was possible that I measured so far behind when we were TTC and I had tracked everything so perfectly. You know I'm obsessed with DDs for some reason. He said, well while we're in here, let me measure and see what I get. He measured me at 13 weeks 3 days, which is only 2 days off from my July 22nd EDD... making my EDD July 24th!!! Hahahaha.... looks like I won't have to correct my siggy now after all!
yay! Great appt! So cool that you got to see your little one too.

aww how sweet that you got to see the baby!!
Its common for docs to be wrong on dd. I think they need to stay out of it unless the woman truly does not know her conception dates. Which I didn't with Nichole... so its nothing bad.. just didn't pay attention to that stuff with her.
