TOTAL waste of my time. I wish they would have given me my chart to fill out at home and bring it back instead of making me sit there for over 2 /12 hours. OOO but I did get my weight and BP checked. Though I am going to be seen at the hospital's OB clinic instead of family practice. But I already knew that. Tomorrow I can go to the lab and have them draw all of my blood and also do a 1 hour glucose test. Yippy (NOT!) But the best part is tomorrow I can call and set up my first u/s. I just hope it will be sometime next week. I am dying to know if it's one or two little ones driving me nuts with the nausea. Even the nurse today who decided which dept will be taking care of me said it is very possible that it might be twins again.
I should be called in the next few days with my first appt date and time. My appt will be after the 16th of this month though. I will be 10weeks on the 16th.
I'm confused as to why they are doing your glucose test so soon. GD doesn't even develop until around 18 weeks, so doing it now wouldn't mean you wouldn't develop it later.
My Dr mails me the forms and I just bring them with me. I like it like that, no useless trip.
I felt the same way when they did my registration appointment at the clinic. I was hoping to stay at the family practice since I will be leaving Fort Bragg anyway, but no luck, I'm stuck going to the ob clinic at the hospital...I like my family practice md MUCH better!
Good luck on your appointment and u/s - it took me a month for my u/s appt and 6 weeks for my first ob appointment!
The reason for the early glucose challange is due to my BMI being over 35. I know it's going to be normal so I am going to take it just to shut them up and then have to do it all over again at 28 weeks.
