I'm getting excited to be able to feel the baby move. When can I expect that to happen and what will it feel like? Will I know it is different than just gas?

I didn't feel Holden until around 20 weeks. I probably felt him before but that was when i KNEW it wasn't gas. I could see his kicks on the outside of my tummy, so I was probably a little late on picking up on it

I think most first time mommies feel the first movement within 18-20 weeks. It's weird, but you'll KNOW. Maybe not the first few times.. but somehow I just KNEW it was him and it turned out I was right

i felt DS at 17 weeks for the first time. the PP were right about just knowing. there is a definite difference between gas and baby kicks even though they say they feel similar at first (my gas bubbles never felt like baby kicks)

I first felt Olivia moving at 16 weeks but it took me three days to realize what it was. It was such a very light touch, like something was barely, barely, touching me. I didn't even really pay attention to it. Then the third day I was sitting at the computer desk (on JM, lol) and it happened again and all of a sudden it dawned on me that it was the baby!! It was the best feeling in the world to realize that's what it was

I can't remember how far along I was when those very light feathery touches turned to kicks but I will never forget the first time I realized I felt her moving.

Its different for each baby and each mommy.

you may not realize what it is at first with your first.

With Kimmy I felt her at 10 weeks. Bella not till closer to 20.

The others were around 13-14 weeks.

For the first time, it's usually 18-20 weeks. You'll know what it is. It feels like little butterflies in your tummy, little wings fluttering. It's a very soft feeling at first, so sweet and precious.

I think I first felt Ben around 15 weeks. I remember feeling the strangest ticklish feeling in my belly. It was like someone very very lightly tickling me from the inside. I started feeling harder movements around 18 weeks and it was several more weeks after that that I could see movement.

My 1st was about 15 weeks. The rest were between 10 and 12. I have felt this one a few times already but mostly when I am laying down trying to find him/her with the doppler. The last few times I haven't been able to find the h/b and then I have felt tapping. I put the doppler on the exact same spot as the tapping and there was the h/b and it was loud! The last time, it wasn't just a tap but an outright (but still tiny) kick and I could here all kinds of movement with the doppler while I was feeling it.
