I am really starting to show so I figured I needed to tell them. I really felt like they already knew. They are high schoolers so they aren't clueless.. most of the time. I have 3 classes, block scheduling, and they each reacted different. In my first class (my difficult class) about half of them were really excited, one of my boys jumped out of his seat and was like "I KNEW IT!" and the others were like "Wow you seem really excited.. I hate kids".
My second class (my favorite class) was SO excited and spent our free time talking about how they were going to impact my kid's life. One girl wants to be the babysitter because she is practically my neighbor, others want to take the kid fishing or dog running (very country area). One of my big football player boys put his hand on my stomach and was like "I think it is a boy and he is going to be a football player". It was so cute. They confessed that one day last week when I was standing outside of the classroom between classes they had a conversation about who was going to ask me because they all thought I was pregnant but then they decided that it would be inappropriate. I love them!
Anyways, in my 3rd class all of the boys congratulated me before I got anything out of my mouth. All I said was "I have some news I want to share". I was like "Did someone in my 1st block tell you?" and they were like "No.. we all knew though". The girls in the class had no idea and were like "What is everyone talking about?" and one of my boys was like "She's pregnant!". Everyone got excited and then one of my boys was like "Eh that means you had sex!".... That is when I changed the subject and we started to get to work on our projects. lol
The rest of the day my kids kept coming up to me telling me how excited they are and they know I am going to be an awesome mom. I really love my kids (most of them). It is so awesome I got to share this with them.
it might have just been cos it was the teacher im sure he isnt grossed out BY sex.
but that is awesome! i always wanted to be a teacher, but the economy now is crap, and teaching isnt the BEST job to have around here, they get laid off all the time =\
