I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow, so I am now more comfortable buying baby related items. What books would you recommend for a first time mommy?

Yeah JM was a huge help for me. You get live answers to your questions!

I'll have to go dig out the book I really liked. I can't remember the name of it. I want to get Hypnobirthing. I've heard that is really good.

I enjoyed the girlfriend's guide to pregnancy. It is a funny and very honest approach to pregnancy.

I also liked the week by week books that would show a picture of what my baby looked like that week and describe the growth & changes for both mom and baby each week.

Diddo on the Jenny McCarthy Belly Laughs book. Its short and fun, I finished it yesterday morning. You could probably read it in one evening - it was a nice break from the 'do this, don't do that' others books I have been going through.

Yes definitely get the Jenny McCarthy books! I read Belly Laughs, Baby Laughs and Life Laughs! They are all very good reads. She makes fun of everything, seriously you cant get through one chapter without laughing out loud.
I have also read Louder Than Words and am currently reading Mother Warriors. They are both about her and her son and his autism. These two books are way more serious, but are touching and really make you thankful for healthy kids. I am addicted to her books!

Pregnancy Week by Week isn't bad...plus I read Belly Laughs - thats been it so far! I went to Barnes and Noble and bought 2-3 pregnancy magazines - they are expensive for some reason! Over $5 each!

I actually enjoyed the what to expect when you're expecting book AND
The Belly Laughs book by Jenny McCarthy. It's a must!

But really, JM gave me more knowledge than anything during my pregnancies.
It was so nice to know if something had me worried or seemed weird, some
other expecting mommies were only a message away to ease my fears and let me
know they were going or had gone through the same things.

I only had that what to expect book and honestly would NOT recommend it!

I have heard so many say belly laughs. I have yet to read it though.
