View Poll Results: when does the second trimester start??
I was just wondering that same thing. I was reading my What to Expect When You're Expecting book and it has the 13th week listed under the first trimester. Though they consider 12 weeks 1day the 13th week. Which can be confusing.
I'm saying once the 12 weeks is completed because that's the one I've heard the most and that is closer to 1/3 through the pregnancy (which is technically 13w3d I think). I've heard so many different opinions.
I would like to say the start of the 12th week because I'm only a couple days away from that. lol
The advice nurse said that it was the beginning of the 13th week. The JM calendar says the beginning of the 12th week and Baby Gaga (ticker place) says 14th week. I'm going to stick with the 13th week.
Like I posted earlier, it's all a matter of personal taste. The website I posted had THREE different times that the 2nd/3rd trimester starts, depending on which you choose to go by, "Development", "Gestation" and "Conception". I personally am going by "Development" since it's based on the development of the fetus rather than just dates, but that is my personal taste/choice. Either way, second trimester is just around the corner...
