So DF's brother and his GF are staying with us for awhile until they get back on thier feet. That's totally fine with us. They cook and clean and walk the dog :-). Well today I all DF and tell him I'm craving Chinese food...i've been craving it for about a week. I tell him that is what I am eating for dinner. We agree on it and that's that. So his brother calls me and is like don't worry about dinner we have it covered. I'm like oh really. He said yeah...we're frying fish and making a salad. I'm like....o-kay. So we hand up and I immediately call DF and go off and say...why did you tell him it was okay to cook dinner. I told you I wanted chinese. And he's like his brother just was like don't worry about food, we have it, just put your feet up and rest. I told him the next time they do that tell them that candace is pregnant and she likes to eat what she likes to eat. So now I have to go home and eat fish when I really want shrimp with brocolli with fried rice and egg rolls. I'm sooo upset!!!!

I'd still get the Chinese food. Depending on what kind of fish it is it might not be good for you to eat any way. Play the pregnant card and run away making puking noises when the fish appears on the table!

What good is being pregnant if it doesn't get you egg rolls? You know, aside from having a baby! I'd also play the preggo card. Its nice of them to try and help by making dinner but you're not obligated to eat it if you don't want to.

Ditto! I would play the prego card. Say that the fish doesn't appeal to you and get what you want. I think they were just trying to be nice and make a nice dinner but they obviously don't know what it like to be pregnant... you want what you want.

uhhhh actually, not so. Some fish contain mercury levels that are too high to be considered safe for pregnant women

I would have Def. been like sweet! Enjoy your fish, I'm having Chinese!

That's what I did when my mom cooked for me and I was really craving Taco Bell instead. I ate a bite or two of her supper and then I sent dh to Taco Bell to sneak me some real food. lol

She meant well and it sounds like they did too, but it's hard for them to understand how powerful pregnant cravings are.

LOL@ all of you guy's advice!! I went ahead and ate the fish. By the time I got home I was STARVING and I just needed something in my stomach. It was pretty good. I told DF that he has to take me to the chinese buffet tomorrow since we are both off. Hopefully that satisfies my craving.

wow you can wait that long for a craving? I could never wait 24 hours- if I have to wait an hour its torture when I have a craving!

I give in to all of my cravings. If I eat something that I'm not craving it makes me nauseous. At least the fish was good, and it was sweet of them.
