Well, my husband was supposed to be deployed as of August to Iraq. Now he has been changed to 99.9% positive he will be here for October, but won't be here when I physically give birth. But he is going to Afghanistan in November. So, it is a bitter sweet thing. He will be here while we go to Disney which means he can get a last family vacation in and then go to a place where I didn't think he would go. He would be a somewhat safe place to a place where all **** breaks loose. Ugh...I guess I should be nicer to him.

This is all sinking in and I don't know what to think about it. Reality hits geez I married into the wrong profession.

I'm sorry that you will be going through his deployment. He is doing a wonderful thing for our country! but I can't imagine what's it like to go through that.

I'm glad he going to be home until October, just make sure he helps you out as much as possible. And will be especially nice that he be able to go to Disney too. Hey maybe our dh will be in the same area in Afg wouldn't that be crazy, it sucks about the deployment but know I'll be here to help you make it through it too.

Sorry my dear!!! I think you're right about marrying in to the wrong profession. I think that sometimes too. It makes me sad to even think about it!
Hugs to you!

I'm sorry Kristen. I feel bad for all of the families of deployed soldiers. I know it's not an easy life. I hope the time passes quickly and he's back safe in your arms.

i'm really sorry to hear that.. military life sure is a difficult one, with the downs sometimes outweighing the ups! i hope, by some miracle, that he doesn't have to leave, or gets to be with you during the birth.

Awww, that would be soooo hard to deal with. Your husband is a true American Hero though and I hope he feels how much appreciation we (as Americans) have for what he is doing for us. I think that being a military wife/husband is probably one of the hardest things ever and I commend you for being strong and supporting your husband even though you'd rather have him home for the delivery of your child.

Thank you girls. I figure it would be shorter than his other deployment and he should be home safe in May/June, it isn't that bad. It should go fast with all of the holidays and birthdays and so on.

im sorry , but at the same time yay! he'll be home to see the baby while the baby is still a baby! i hope that made sence.
Your DH is doing a great thing for our country, but honestly I have a little more respect for the wives (husbands) and children of military men (and women). They put up with a lot of crap for their men (and women) to fight for our country!
