i went to the dr and they wont give me antibiotics and i cant sleep b/c of this cough im up all night coughin my brains out i cant take it anymore. does anyone know if i can take the mucinex(sp) stuff they show on tv i heard somewhere i could but i wanted to make sure they gave me a cough syrup and sudafed which of neither are helping. any adive would be great. thanks



just realized my title lol if i werent pregnant i wouldnt be here asking...im loosing it with no sleep. HAHA sorry ladies

I'm pretty sure Mucinex is safe but call your Dr to make sure before you take anything. It's always best to ask them because they know for sure.

According to drugs.com it is a Class C medication. It is not safe during pregnancy. A Class A or B are ok but not C, D or above. What Class C means is that the studies in rats etc showed some kind of deformity in the baby after birth. Check with your Family doctor and your OB one of them should give you something!!!!

You know what I swear by that might giv you a little relief. Shower soothers. They usually loosen up the mucus and lowers the cough a little bit. I bought 2 boxes of those yesterday.

Sudafed is all I take when preggers but call your Dr and they will tell you what you can and can't take.

I'd just deal with it - it's not worth the risk.

My doc told me No over the counter meds except Tylenol.
