it was skin cancer that had spread to her brain and liver. she has a 5% survival rate but we all know her contract was not renewed for next season.... sad.

Yes, that sucks because she was a good character on it.

I think she got a little too big headed. She basically made her role on Grey's seem insignificant. Have you seen her movies? They are cute and entertaining, but nothing Oscar worthy.

I couldn't watch last week's Private Practice because of the lady's pregnancy loss.

ETA: What happened with the situation with Addison and her patient's husband?

Stage 3 melanoma spread to her brain, she has 3 months to live and not much of a chance of surviving... thats why shes been hallucinating about Denny, not just because she misses him but it was a side effect of the cancer :O

Very dramatic... but Derek is going to come back to the hospitial to try and save her so there is a purpose I guess (besides her trying to leave the show lol)

I LOVE Grey's Anatomy...can't wait for tonight's show.

I knew she was leaving the show, but I really hope she doesn't die. That would be so sad.. I hope it's a happy thing, they save her and she decides to live a different life and change the world! I know I'm probably dreaming but I don't know if I can handle a death!

We DVR everythign and watch it later.

But yes she has cancer. I can't remember the name.... but there is something in her brain which she figured was causing her to see danny.

I don't like that she is leaving. But oh well.

i'm kinda disappointed. and I hate that the storyline of christina and the iraq veteran is so "dark and twisty." can't we get some happy ending for those characters?

i think its amusing that the writers let that storyline overshadow izzy's surgery. heigel must have really ticked them off!

I LOVE Grey's!

Shonda Rhimes was asked at the Image Awards if T.R and Katherine were leaving the show and she said NO.So as far as things are now they are NOT leaving.

Of course things can change.

I really hope they don't leave though!

I can personally relate to the darkness of the relationship with Christina and Hunt....It is hard being with someone that has PTSD. It kinda hits home for me and alot of my friends.
