I heard my son's heartbeat (last pregnancy) at 10 weeks with a doppler from baby beats. I rented it for 2 months I think. It was like $35 a month. I can't decide if I'll do it again.
I really hope I get to though! I loved having a doppler!

We probably got our dopplers from the same dealer. I have the same one. I FINALLY heard the actual heartbeat, instead of the placenta...a few days ago!

I bought one from BabyBeat six years ago. I had rented one for the 2 pgs before and they applied that money towards the purchase price. I heard it at 8w4d with my last baby and 8w3d with this one.

I got one off ebay that was also a 3mhz. I haven't heard the heartbeat yet, just the placenta.

I got a HI Bebe, for $80, off ebay when I was pregnant with my last DS. I heard the h/b in my 11th week with him. This time, I heard it at 10 wks 4 days. It's a 2 mhz, but I have been very pleased with it.

For a little added info, I copied this off the Hi Bebe site:

What is the difference between a 2mhz or a 3mhz probe?

A 3mhz probe is useful in picking up a heartbeat in the early weeks of the first trimester (usually around 8-10 weeks) and can be used throughout pregnancy.

A 2mhz probe works best after about 12 weeks and throughout the rest of pregnancy. Also, a 2mhz probe tends to work better than a 3mhz probe for women who are overweight.

I have a 3 Mhz one, and found it for the first time at about 12 1/2 weeks...very low near the pubic bone
