I am supposed to go to my DH's cousin's bday party tonight. She's turning 30 and her doctor gave her a small fertility window that closed sometime last summer, due to many health issues. Well, she's still trying and on fertility meds and tonight is her 30th birthday.

I really look pregnant. I may just be bloated, but there is no mistaking that I am looking pregnant. The family does not know yet (other than in-laws) and I don't want to break the news that we are pregnant at this girl's 30th birthday party who has been TTC for years w/o success.

Do you have any advice as to what I can possibly do to hide this from them at least for tonight? I just really don't want to steal the spotlight on her birthday and make her feel bad. And I really don't want to not show up because we RSVP'd.

i've been wearing a kinda baggy zipup to hide the belly at work so far, which seems to be working. If its a dressier party that might make things harder.

I think that's incredibly sweet and thoughtful of you to be so considerate of her feelings.

I have no good tips - as I am NOT good at hiding it. No matter what I do or wear at this point I look pregnant. But if there is anything baggier like the girls said, hopefully you will just look like you gained weight and don't have a baby belly.

I wish you lots of luck! Let us know how it goes.

I've been wearing a black shawl on top my outfit to work and that helps.

I think the other ladies had some great advice. I hope the party goes good and you can enjoy yourself and have some fun too.

there s alot of flowy shirts that are in style that are very lose on the stomache that could help you hide the belly , i actually wore one today to a bday party ,im not really trying to hide my belly but if i wear a fitted shirt i just look pudgy anyways that could help and wear it with some dark jeans and heels it will make you look thinner.

Send a message via Yahoo to natty
if your chest still sticks out further than your belly try a shirt that just falls from their and does not get tighter around your belly, hope you find something

try an empire waisted top. I find I have a couple of those that definitely hide the belly. Also a dressy scarf tied around your neck that hangs down might also help block any belly views.

I agree with what the others suggested. I think it's really sweet of you to not want anyone notice tonight. That's a really mature and nice thing to do.

definitely wear a dress (obviously a loose fitting one). everything "in style" has that sort of empire waste to it. dress it up with a cute pair of heels and no one will think different.

Thank you all for your advice! I ended up wearing a pair of wide-leg dress pants w/ the bella band and a long button-up sweater that's kinda loose. It had a strap around the waist that I left really loose, but I tied it so the bow was right at my stomach and no one was the wiser! And I held my larger purse in front of me too! It helps that it was at a restaurant so I sat down first and didn't get up til it was time to go!

Thanks again! You guys rock.

I had that problem during my divorce hearing. I wore a shirt that was ripply on the stomach. You can also try a handbag and hold in front of you.
