My shot records were burned up in my parents house fire years ago and my doctor said that if I can't find them that I should get them updated. For some reason I feel uneasy about this. Has anyone here had immunizations while pregnant?

ditto to not while you're pregnant. I wouldn't risk it.

I wonder if he just meant "you should get them updated" but not particularly right NOW...kwim? I don't think I'd risk that either...you can always have them done in a few months and all will be just fine You are protected through the herd anyway

you can "update" your records by getting a copy from your old dr., middle, or high school. they are all people who would have had an additional copy.

Yeah, "updating" them doesn't mean getting them over again. It meand getting the records from a source that would still have them. Your old school would have them, your old Dr, etc...

I hope you can find a record somewhere. Ditto looking at your old school records or calling your doctor's office.

Hmm...They should have another copy around somewhere right? I know my old dr's had a paper copy and a computer copy, I don't understand it. Maybe there is another copy out there. I would just tell them I'm pregnant you can "update me" in November when I'm not pregnant. The only shot I received while pregnant was the flu shot with KJ, I didn't get it with Owen or this previous one just because I was too lazy to figure out how to get one.

i agree someone out there def. has a copy. im pretty sure your old doc would have them. depending on how long youve been out of school they may still have them. by the way ive only had a flu vac while pregnant, which is mandatory pretty much where i am. i would think what your ob is looking for is if your immune to certain things.... they should be able to tell that from blood work they draw from you... i dont remember my doc ever asking me for my vac. chart... he always drew my blood and told me what i was immune to.

I too would think a doctor or a school would have a record.

But I wouldn't get them while pg.
