This popped up in a 24 hour period. We went to urgent care on Friday afternoon because daycare called and said Cohen had a fever of 101.5. Earlier in the week, Monday and Tuesday, he had slight fevers of no more than 100, but is cutting 4 molars and one of the k-9 teeth on top and has had a nasty cold so i just attributed it to that. well when we went to the doctor on Friday, he couldn't find anything wrong, his ears looked clean, chest clear, nothing else really bothering him other than this runny nose/cough. Doc gives him motrin, tells us virus, and sends us on our way.
fast forward literally 24 hours and the fever is back with vengeance (103.5) and his eye swells and is gooey...so back to urgent care. Now he has a double ear infection and pink eye. I asked if it was possible that the ear infections could have developed that fast and the doc said it could develop in 3-4 hour period. Pink eye showed in 30 min. His eye started getting *****, and then started to swell all within 30 minutes. So now we've got him on eye drops 4 times a day for 5 days (you can imagine how that's been going), and antibiotics twice a day for 10 days.
So far, he doesn't have a fever this morning and is happy playing. This is his first "real" illness that has needed to be treated, poor baby.
That poor little man! Give him hugs! I hope he clears up soon! I know KJ always gets like that I take him to the dr "just a virus" next day he has ear infections or strep throat. He is good for that one. It is crazy how fast children can develop things like that.
