So I had a biophysical profile and growth done today. I remember asking NEssy if she was feeding the twins Miracle gro last week. Well, my little ox is weighing in at 6lb 7oz! I mean, that's great, but I was totally unprepared for that, diabetes and all! He's already surpassed DH's birthweight by a pound and he's a pound and a half off of catching me. I was a term baby! I actually feel really good now, because if he's born early, he's going to be good size.

The downside (this is scary for me) is that he's been consistently scoring 10/10 on the BPP and today he would NOT practice breathe. She shook him, poked him, harrassed him into oblivion for 20 min or so and he just didn't do it. So he got an 8/10, which is still good but not perfect and it makes me worry. We'll repeat on THurday and see if he's feeling more cooperative.

i dont think that parents birth weight has any correlation to babys weight. justin was 7-2, i was 6-4 and sd was 5 something. but wow! 6 lbs right now!!! thats a big boy! youve had such a rough pregnancy, i bet youre ready for it to be over! with the whole slew of things that youve had to deal with, i dont know how you do it

Xander was 6 pounds 5 ounces on April 6 and he was 7 pounds at birth a week later. My daughter was also 7pounds 4 oz at 37 weeks....big babies for being early.

he needed NICU help and she did not though. Darn boys develop their lungs slower.

Oh, I don't think his birth weight is correlated to ours at all, I just think it's interesting. I guess if you knew DH and I in person you could look at it as me showing how UN-related it is to us and to our adult sizes. DH is a BIG guy, but was a teeny baby. I was a moderate sized baby and I'm a pretty thick, large framed woman.

I am so curious about the lung function issue. We've had the steroids 2 weeks ago, so I feel good about it if he has to come this week or next, but you can never be sure. How many weeks were you with Xander?

If he was practice breathing before and not just today, he must not have been in the mood, I wouldnt worry too much!

I just had to say that Hayden was "measuring" at 6 lbs 12 oz when i had a bpp a week before i delivered and he ended up being 6lbs 2oz! so the measurements arent necessarily right haha i was expecting at least 7 lbs and now hes sooo tiny to me and barely fit in nb stuff.. i barely bought any because my mom convinced me that he would be kinda big..HAH haha

He's the same size as my boy was at the same week. They have always told me that they could be off by about a pound either way but I think mine was pretty accurate. I bake big babies.

Do they have a delivery plan for you? C-Section or Vaginal?

OMG our wireless has been down at the hospital. I have been climbing the walls!

Nessy, I'm looking at a c-section, but the closer I get to "term" aka 37 weeks, the better chance of induction. They said they'll check to see if I'm favorable, but warned me that I could stall out. Which I already knew. I'm likely to choose the c just to avoid being in labor for hours and THEN having a c.

LOL You should see me when JM was down for 3 days. I was about insane!

Im not looking forward to a c-section. It actually scares me alot. I keep coming up with all these irrational thoughts on how it could be avoided. I actaully said to my husband yesterday (and he thought I had fallen off my rocker) well maybe I could have the boy vaginally and see if the doctor can get the girl to turn and if that doesnt work out that well then I'll just have the c-section. Guess Im a big chicken
