Well I had my end of 1st trimester blood testing and nuchal scan yesterday. My Dr sent me to a specialist place dealing in high risk pregnancys. He is not considering me one but ... they are excellent at what they do. What a fantastic place ! Everyone was nice, the place was warm and comfy feeling.
Baby decided it wanted NO part of being scanned ! So I had to roll around a bit to get kiddo into the right place to be measured. Once we finally got baby in the right spot it decided it was irritated by the ultrasound wand poking around and its hands started boxing away as if to say "leave me alone". We all cracked up laughing! All measurements were "normal".
We FINALLY got to hear the heartbeat. A nice steady strong 150 bpm.
Another little confirmation that this is all REAL !
The fun thing that the tech said is that baby in almost verticle in my uterus ... just kicking back a little like leaning against a wall. We said hanging out in a hammock listening to Jimmy Buffett and the tech said ... "I like your baby".
The next appointment with them will be May 22nd for an amnio. The day before my 40th ... We hope to find out the sex then too. Oh what a Happy Birthday to me ...
Here is our little pumpkin as of yesterday ... waving hi and we think sticking out its tounge !
