I am soooo excited for you. I have three boys and it is truly wonderful. They are best friends and they are wonderful to watch as they interact. I would recommend boys to everyone

And, about the fluid, they realllly scared my sister when she was PG with her son. They said the same thing and told her (in the doctor's office) that there was something wrong. He had excess fluid in the head. After a genetic u/s, they could find nothing else wrong, but they confirmed that there was excess fluid. He absorbed the excess fluid on his own and he's a brilliant (and I mean BRILLIANT) 16 yr old! So, don't worry yet. but, I'll be praying for your little guy!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Fluid on the brain can clear up. Holden having a brother will be wonderful for him.

I'm so sorry you didn't get your girl. I know you will love this baby like crazy once he's born but take the time you need to grieve for the little girl that could have been.

Lots of ((hugs))

thanks ladies I keep trying not to think about the fluid because I know a few girls who have been told the same and their LOs turned out perfect but it's a hard thing to hear and to think about when it's your own

I had a feeling that it was a boy when we didn't get an update from you right away. I'm sorry you didn't get your girl. I know what it's like to have your heart set on one sex. I really want a girl too and I still have quite a while before I can find out.

I know you're upset right now but I bet once you hold that beautiful boy you'll be happier than you ever thought you'd be. Now Holden has a built in best friend and buddy.

I hope everything is ok with the baby. I can imagine it was very scary to be given that news. I hope they can get you in for another U/S soon so you can get more info.

i think siblings of the same sex generally grow up having a closer relationship, not to mention their proximity in age. i know it's not what you wanted, but maybe it'll turn out to be better than you'd ever hoped for. do you have your 20 week u/s scheduled w/ your doc yet?

It's scheduled at the hospital with a specialist because they have to check the baby's kidneys. those people are complete idiots who told me multiple times there was something wrong with my amniotic fluid with Holden ("weird" "borderline low") when there was nothing wrong so I don't trust their opinion at all.
it's not for another month though, and the nurse today said my doctor should schedule it sooner than that to make sure nothing is wrong.. which I doubt will happen since they'd have to get me in at the hospital, and those turds never have appointments open

I'm sure everything will alright with baby boy, it'll be great though when the kids are a little older being both boys, Chase has two brother that live with their mother in NY but when they come down he is totally out of my hair LOL. Maybe a lil break for you hunny!

Anyways, it's all your hubbys fault lol you're young maybe you'll get your girl unless your husband is one of those men who only spits out boys, hope you get happy bout it soon... any baby is a blessing!!

no offense.. but be happy that you do have a baby in there.. I know a woman who's lost her 4 year old little girl..its very sad.. so please mamas be happy that you have a baby in your tummy either boy or girl.. otherwise think of that mama whos baby is in heaven.. then hug your tummy and be thankful

im also hopping for a little girl with me.. but its in Gods hands.. I would totally love a boy too.. God gives you what he thinks you can handle..

Well I am sorry that you didn't get your little girl this time around.... but I agree with the other posts that having a brother so close to his age will be great for Holden. A built-in playmate, friend and punching bag They can go together through school and play on the same teams- he will love it!

I know its hard not to worry when its YOUR baby, but the stats for high brain fluid at this gestational age are really reassuring. If they don't reschedule your appt then at least when you go in the prob may have already resolved itself and you wont have to wait any longer. KUP and take your time grieving- you won't have time to when the baby comes!

Congratulations! Boys are awesome. I'm hoping for another this time. I know what it's like to want a girl. Took us 4 tries(plus I have a stepson). You will love him just as much, give yourself time.

I hope everything goes well at your next ultrasound.
