DH and I went to BRU and Target this past weekend to look at baby stuff for the first time. There is so much stuff! I mean, I've seen parents with all of it, I just didn't realize how much stuff there was!! How did you know what to register for? I'm worried I'm going to forget something.

I registered for everything! I figured I would give people options (variety of price points, colors, etc) to choose from since we're having 3 baby showers I needed to have plenty on the registry. BRU also gives you 10% any items you purchase yourself that are left on the registry, so I figured we may as well register for everything incase we may need to buy it later ourselves. I did follow the "top registry items" list and "items needed" list from each category that they provide you with. My co-workers that have kids helped me out a lot with their input, too.

You might as well register for anything you think you might need or might like. Dont be afraid to register for different types of the same thing. Like huggies and pampers or slings and pouch type carriers. You can always take things back if you get more then one item. I wouldnt register for to many clothing items or blankets. You will get those regardless. Seems like that is the most popular gift, a outfit and a blanket. Register for different types of bottles- if you plan on ever using them. You will find that you like some and not others.

I would just register for whatever....I mean there are basic things that you need...carseat, monitors, diaper bags, bath stuff, burp clothes, diapers, stroller, high chair, etc.....and then other things that would be nice to get Bumbo (love mine), wipe warmer, teethers, etc. My advice is just register for whatever you think you would want/need. You are bound to forget something....but you can always edit a registry, it is not set in stone once you create it Also I am sure you will also be running out to get other things that you realize you need after the baby comes. Don't stress too much

We're first time soon-to-be parents and we registered about a month ago. We literally combed the entire store (BRU) from front to back with our little scanner and we scanned anything and everything that we knew we'd need. We did stay away from clothing items and blankets because we aren't finding out the baby's sex so that will be stuff that we'll purchase after the baby is born. But we did put down some basic onsies and hats, socks, etc. I also looked at someone else's baby registry (a girlfriend of mine who just had her baby recently) and got some ideas off of that.

I registered at BRU and Target. I took my sister so she could point out what items I really need, and what stuff is a waste.

I also had no idea what to register for and was completely overwhelmed by all the stuff I never knew about! My DH and I went and registered on our own and then I brought a friend back with me who has children and she helped me complete the list which helped a ton- Good luck

Definatley look at the booklet you get from BRU when you register and there is also a list on target's website. You might not want everything on the lists but it will help you to stay organized as you register. It can be overwhelming so just do a little at a time if that helps.

I usually start registries online, so that I can do all the research at home (reading reviews, ratings, etc). Then DH & go to the store, and I let him play with the scanner, so he feels involved. I also check to make sure that what I registered for online is actually available in the store.... if it isn't, I usually remove it, unless it's something that I really, really want.
