I have a co-worker who had a female doberman who asked if I would want to breed Viktor. I hadn't gotten him fixed yet, so I said yes. He has a great disposition and the female does too, and the guy has had 6 previous litters with other dogs, so I felt comfortable with it. The stud fee was pick of the litter, and I had a great family to buy it, was going to use the money for baby stuff.
So... two weeks ago, 7 puppies were born, they were so cute! I went to see them when they were two days old, one had passed and another wasn't doing well. After a visit to the vet, we were told they the two were born without anuses, and they put down the second little one. That left five very healthy puppies.
When I got back from Dominican, I emailed the guy to check on the pups and he told me that they were all dead. His youngest daughter took them outside to get some fresh air when they were washing the blankets and she forgot about them. They left for the afternoon and came home and all of them had died from heat exposure. It was so devastating! Still heartbroken over it. I keep thinking maybe if I had kept them here, this wouldn't have happened, but the female wasn't my dog, so it wasn't really possible.

so sad.
