I'm trying to come up with a good gift idea for DH and am really having a lot of trouble! He bought me a necklace that has a sardonyx in it wrapped in silver. It's really pretty. (apparently sardonyx is August's birthstone!)

So now I'm stuck on what to get him. What are you ladies doing?

With our big family we do cards and the person gets to pick out dinner for their special day. We don't have extra money in the budget.

I'm sending DH a card from me, one from the dog and cats and one from our little boy. I got him a book but I can't send it until probably after father's day since he won't be in ports. I'm also sending him phone cards in with the other cards.

Father's day is also our one year wedding anniversary and I know he has something planned already, and we agreed to do nothing for mother's day/father's day until next year...but I kind of want to get him something extra special since it's kind of a two for one day for us!

I think I've figured out what I'm gonna do: Get a nice wooden frame that says something "father"-y on it and put a picture of the ultrasound in it. I'm also getting a little Minnesota Vikings baby outfit. I hope he likes it

Thanks for your input, ladies!

I have no idea. We have two birthdays between now and then so what's left after that will determine what I do for him.

I'll probably make his fav dinner and dessert...we don't have it in the budget for much more this year. His b-day is 6/6, so it's like a double whammy of stuff for him in June. lol

I made him a photomug on snapfish.com. It has the kid's pics and even an ultrasound of Bryce. Then I'm letting him go out on his motorcycle.

The kids and I will probably make him a steak dinner, as far as gifts go, he has a new Alienware computer on the way, and he got a huge L shaped desk so he can have both his desk tops set up on it. He is done lol

Im not even sure SO will be home, hes working all the time to make enough money and get his hours in so he can take two weeks off (with no pay) in Aug when the baby comes.

But if he is here, i'll make him his favorite dinner with desert, get Madison to make him a card and that, we'll just spend time together as a family. As for gifts i'm getting him these "talk-a-bouts" there used for hunting and stuff since there's no reception for cell phones where we live. I already bought him new summer clothes, 3 pairs of shorts and 4 new t-shirts but the little bugger is already wearing them

Grrr.... this is sore subject for me. I don't know if I want to do anything for him. He seems to think that just because HIS race trip every year falls on Mother's Day weekend that he doesn't have to do anything. We went to the store to pick out cards for our mom's the day of our trip and he had the nerve to "look" for a card for me and tell me he was doing it. I was livid! He even said that if he didn't I would get mad at him. That made it even worse. So I think to teach him a lesson he's getting not a thing from me. I might even throw my b/f a baby shower that day so he gets stuck watching the kids.
