So I had an appointment on Tuesday with my new doctor and hospital. I absolutely love them! Anyways, I saw a Nurse Practitioner and she was great. I looked forward to seeing her again in three weeks as she asked. I had to do my glucose test and check my platelets.
Well she called back today. My platelets went from 116 to 96. They get concerned at about 100. If they continued to drop, I could bleed more than normal during birth and it would prevent me from getting an epidural. I have done a med free birth before and really do not want to go at it again. So now I have to go to the doctor every 2 weeks and I have to get blood drawn twice a week.
To top that off, my one hour came back at 136. The cut off is 130, so I have to do the 3 hour test now. So I will probably do that on Monday. I had not eaten at all the day I took the test, so I was suprised that it was bad. I have never failed so it shocked me. Its not too far over, so hopefully I will pass the 3 hour.
And then- a 29 week belly picture. I had not put effort into myself that day so no face. But you get the idea with my big ol' belly! Enjoy!

Sorry to hear about the bad news, good luck with your three hour and I'm glad they are watching you closely. Great belly shot!! And I agree, you are all belly!
Must depend on the office. I was told the cut off was 140.. So either way you are not that off. I am sure you will past your 3 hour... Sorry to hear about the blood draws
Sorry about having to take the 3 hour ... that is NO fun!
They're concerned about my platelet count too since I had HELLP with Noah so I have to get blood drawn too. I hope they go back up! I remember all too well that labor with no epi. Ick!

Sorry to hear all your bad news. My # was 104 a week and half ago and I'm so afraid its going to drop below 100. What does your doctor plan to do? Have they talked about steroids? Do you know if the hospital uses 80 or 100 as the cut-off point for epidurals?
With Madelyn, my platelets only dropped to 107 and then a couple weeks before delivery, the number went back up a little for some reason. Hopefully that happens for you, too!
Maybe it's just because you hadn't eaten that it was high...if you don't eat, your body kind of starts to produce more insulin because it thinks it's starting to starve...or something like that. lol That's how they explained it to me. So hopefully you're just borderline and maybe at worst you'll have to check your blood sugars?
I don't know anything about the platelets...i know mine dropped towards the end of my pregnancy because I was becoming preeclamptic though. I don't think that low platelets are always a sign of that though...
Hope your blood count goes up. That stinks about the gd test- but atleast you only failed by a little bit- so you might pass the 3hr. I was curious as to what the cut off was- He showed me my numbers and I was 127- so I barely squeaked by!!!
