Just when I thought we were set on a name dh throws a curve ball!
Apparently he was signing Xavier into preschool and noticed that 2 girls in his class were named Peyton. So now he thinks we should make Peyton her middle name (he loves the name just isn't sure he wants it as a first name). Now he's throwing things up in the air like Gabriell - problem I have is this could get mistaken as the boys name.
We're going through the same thing - can't agree on anything, but a popular name - Lily. We'll get there though. I suggested to my DH Gabriella and we could call her Ella for short. Not sure if he's into it or not though...
I love the name Payton. I think that if you really love you should go for it. Besides the kids in your son's preschool class will be in grade school by the time your dd will be in preschool. Good luck deciding.

It's not too popular around here, but popular enough that I'm sure that she will be a "Peyton C." in one of her classes. I'm a Sarah from the 80's and I always swore that I would never, ever, name my child something that was overly popular. My daughter is named Charly, lol!
But we like the name so much that we decided that we will just name her Peyton, and then suck up the fact that it is popular. It's not as popular as Emma, but it's still pretty popular.
So I think you should decide. Do you like it enough for your daughter to have a popular name, are you willing to have "another" Peyton? Or would it bother you a lot that her name isn't unique, and it really is back to the drawing board?
A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful moments of the
present, and the hope and promise of the future.
