Mine go through stages. Sometimes they will eat and eat and eat and other times, they eat very little. It may be a growing spurt Hey, without the syrup they aren't BAD for him anyway!

My kids are the same way. They are a little older, but just as an example my 2 1/2 yr old ate 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, 1 piece of sausage, a small bowl of grapes and 5-10 rasperries for breakfast yesterday. He is only in the 50% for weight so I really don't worry when he eats like this, but there are days where he won't eat as much.

It all even outs, some days my Thomas (3.5) will eat me out of house and home! Today, he had 3.5 waffles. Yesterday he refused to eat at all.. Collin (17 mos) is the same, today he wont eat, yesterday he had two bowls of cereal for breakfast, an entire apple for snack, 2 PB&J uncrustables, crackers and cream cheese, then an entire adult sized burrito for dinner, and also through out the day he had almost 5 12 oz cups of milk

My little guy went through phases (and still does at 4) where he'd eat an extraordinary amount of food for a couple of days then maybe the next week or so he'd hardly have an appetite. Dr. said it was normal as they go through growth spurts...their little bodies know what they need. My son was always in the 95th percentile for ht. and wt. and very healthy. Now he is in the 75th percentile and is a very healthy, slim boy. I think it is perfectly normal.

Normal for us! Sometimes she'll eat two handfuls of strawberries AND two pieces of french toast for breakfast. She's really good about stopping when she's full, so we just be sure that she eats what she needs to (only offer fruit after she has finished her other food, as she could eat fruit all day without complaint).

Right now she's eating two waffles with strawberry preserves on them.

Totally normal! When my little girl is going through a growth spurt she will easily eat three helpings of EVERYTHING and will eat more than either her daddy or I.

We joke and call her our "baby teenager" for her appetite. lol

Her height and weight have remained consistently in the 25% so I'm not too worried about it. I figure she's either growing or really burning up calories when she's doing that.

Yesterday she ate breakfast three times - today she barely ate one so it all evens out.

Isn't it amazing how much our little ones can pack away?

Kids usually will stop eating when they aren't hungry and don't typically overstuff themselves like adults can- so if he's hungry I say let him eat it!
Most toddlers are so picky they won't eat ANYTHING (girls in my PR are having those kinds of issues) so consider yourself lucky!

Sometimes mine eats like a bottomless pit and other days like a little bird. I can always tell when he's going through a growth spurt because he's hungry all day long. Then he moves on to the next part of the growth spurt which is not eating a lot but sleeping a lot more.

same here, he goes through phases. Pretty sure its growth spurt related, cause i notice at the same time he is sleeping more too.

I'm one of them too..

Adriana goes through spurts.. Most days she only eats 1/2 of a waffle and that's it for breakfast.. Same goes for lunch and dinner.. She will just eat half of the food I give her.. At Adriana's last appointment she was in the 45th percentile for weight so I'm not worried..

Growth spurt!!! My DS has in the last week for lunches and snacks eatin (11 chicken nuggets, fries), (2 PB&J with carrots and ranch), (almost a whole small pizza), (2 1/2 bowls mac N cheese), (1/2 bag of grapes). He is not fat at all in fact he is quit tall and skinny unlike his mommy and daddy....GGRRR anyways and he is not sleeping alot so it is normal for them to go in spurts. Their body will store it up and then they will sleep alot and then grow ALOT!!!
