I'm up 25lbs ..... and my doctor has no issue. He actually told me not to worry about it, just try to eat as healthy as possible.

I am up 48.

Fortunately my OB has no issues with it. He knows my history of gaining 23-70 pounds (more 70 pound gains than 23 LOL!) with each baby. He also knows it all comes off. Heck, I just lost 80 pounds after having my youngest when I got pg again. He said some women's bodies are just made to pack on the pounds when pg.

I'm already up over 20 and my doc seemed very pleased with that. I'm eating healthy and still packing on the pounds, so I think it's just my destiny.

I'm up 10 kilos, which I believe is about 22 pounds so I'm not far behind at all. Oh well...I like food.

I cried hysterically my 1st pregnancy when I gained 10 lbs in a month and got totally berated.

Gained 8 lbs in a month this time and no one said a peep. It's all about who you're talking to. Sometimes you just can't control the weight gain regardless of what you do.

You're not a fatty! Kick that guy in the throat.

Wow, I can't believe your doctor said that.. How rude!

Each person gains weight differently.. I personally don't because I'm still under my pre-pregnancy weight. I think my metabolism must go high when I'm pregnant, but I'm kinda fuffy to begin with so I'm not upset about not gaining weight.. lol

I hate how they make mommas stress over the weight gain!

That's ridiculous, every pregnancy and individual is different and can't be expected to gain at those standards. Trust your body, do the best you can with exercise and eating habits, and don't stress. I had a rough pregnancy with Rayne so I never got any exercise and I ate horribly. To say the least I gained a ton of weight (like 60 lbs?) but Rayne was a perfect size (7 lbs 4 oz) and I lost all the baby weight plus more. She is perfectly healthy, never sick, and beyond where she should be developmentally and before I got pregnant this time I was in the best shape I've ever been . Even though I'm exercising regularly, eating way better, etc I've still gained 28 lbs by 27 weeks. So don't worry, you're doing great!

I'm glad your Dr didn't say that to you! Everyone gains weight differently though. Some gain a lot in the beginning but not much in the end and some gain a lot at the end but not at the beginning.

I wonder if we're seeing the same doctor. Last year during my first pregnancy I was steadily gaining a pound a week and around 30 weeks I got the speach: "You know, Katie, when they say your eating for two, you're not ACTUALLY eating for two. The baby is very small and does not need a full sized meal." I about died of embarassment but no matter how much I tried to restrict my calories or get out and walk, I ended up gaining 50 pounds and was able to lose 40 of it before I preggos with this one 4 months later! Don't sweat it, you'll be so busy running around after your munchkin the weight will fly off!!
