It was so horrible.. I was so sick.
I had food poisoning from undercooked or bad chicken!!

I woke up at 2am on the 7th and couldnt stop puking!
I had baaadd diarrhea ( sry tmi )

Every hour after that 3am, 4am, 5am.. ect.. until 1pm the next day I decided to go to the hospital which I thought they were just gonna give me some antibiotics and send me home

but I was *SO* dehydrated my baby dr said I needed to stay over night and be monitored with IV fluids..
It was so scary Ive never been overnight at a hospital EVER, or any IV in my arm.. ever.
Thank God my mom stayed with me all night! Even slept on the hard floor bc she didnt want to leave my side

I was worried about my baby girl the whole time, but every nurse reassured me that the baby is fine, heartbeat is fine, and she was moving constantly so that was a good sign.

It was just an uncomfortable last two days

My back was hurting sooo bad because of throwing up and being dehydrated plus being pregnant they gave me 2 percocet and kept me on morphine most of the night and today

They gave me an option to get a prescription for Vicoden but I chose not to....
now that I'm home and in so much pain again I'm second thinking the pain killers.

*QUESTION* have any of you had to have pain killers while pregnant?
whats your opinion?

Theres my update Not a very happy one..

Hope all you mamas and babies are doing great!!
I missed JM

I'm so sorry! That sounds horrible. I don't have any experience with pain killers while preggo but I would say that if your OB is ok with them then it would be ok in moderation.

I kept asking the nurses if my dr said it was *FOR SURE* ok and they told me it was ok and wouldnt hurt the baby although she might not move as much

but she kicked all through the night and all today.. and I've been on the medication they gave me in the hospital..

I might tough it out unless the pain gets too intense

how scary! so glad you're ok, and baby too! i've never had to be on pain killers ever, but if it were me I would try and avoid them at all costs, i even avoid tylenol. but you should remember that they wouldn't have prescribed them if it wasn't ok.

Oh my goodness, I'm sorry you have been so sick. I'm not sure about the meds while pregnant either, but I'm sure if the doctor offered them to you and you just can't go without them, then I would think it would be fine. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. It must have been scary.

Call them back and get the Vicodin if you're in pain. I am using it for my bad tooth, and I have permission to use it for my migraines as well.

Oh that sounds horrible. I hope you feel better soon.

I had to use Vicodin when I had an infected tooth in May. I had the tooth pulled and used it right after that but only once or twice.

Oh how horrible! I feel so bad that you were so sick. I thinks it's great that your mom stayed with you I hope you're feeling better. And, don't worry about the meds... they can be used, and are used when necessary. In today's society, they are soooo careful with what they let patients have...they tend to be very cautious. You needed the meds. No worries. Recover quickly and KUP

How awful! I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I imagine if the Dr. prescribed them to you that they're okay/safe. I would still try not to take them if you don't really need them, but if you do need them don't worry.

I hope you're back to yourself soon!
