you know the old wives tale about heartburn and hair.... the more heartburn the more hair baby will have, if I remember right.

If you have other kids, did that hold true?

If this is your first, and you are experiencing lots of heartburn, do you think your baby will have lots of hair?

This was true for both my girls. I had HORRIBLE heartburn, it was so so bad and some nights I'd have to sit up to sleep. I had it the entire pregnancy, horribly and they both had lots of hair. I keep saying this time she's gonna be bald because I've had barely any.

I had a little bit of heartburn with Ella, and she wasn't bald but didn't have a ton of hair either.

This one is going to be needing a first haircut when she's born if the tale holds true!

It was true with DS. The heartburn was so bad that it burned my vocal cords and for the last few months of my pregnancy I barely had a voice and it took months to go back to normal. I was so afraid he'd be a little monkey baby since I had heartburn so bad. He had a full head of hair.

The heartburn is starting up this time so I'm sure it'll be another baby with a lot of hair.

It was true for me with my first. I had horrible heartburn and he was born with a thick headfull of hair. So much that the nurses who gave him his first bath were styling it.

If the theory is true then this baby is going to come out looking like a bear. I have had terrible heartburn since I was about 8 weeks preggo.

Hardly any heart burn here and Adriana was born with a LOT of hair.. She didn't even look like a newborn when she was born.. Between my DH and I, there's no surprise she has such thick hair.. lol I'm sure my next baby will have a ton of hair too.. It's in his genes.. lol
See all of her hair.. First is her hospital picture the second is Adriana when she was two months old..

The secret to controlling heart burn is what you eat.. I was on the gestational diabetes diet and I was heart burn free.. But before I went on the diet, I had a little heart burn..

I had a lot of heartburn with Olivia, the last month especially, and she was born with quite a bit of hair. The doctor actually made her hair into a mohawk while he waited for her to be born. lol

I'm already starting to get a little heartburn this time. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat, I think it has more to do with the baby pushing on my stomach a certain way.

We'll see if he has a lot of hair or not when he's born. I hope he does.

Wasn't true for Hugo. I had tons of HB and ate more than 2 bottles each of Tums and Pepcid the last 4 or so months. Here is a pic of his hair at birth (we were most surprised that it was so light!!)

Looks like there's a lot compared to say, a bald baby, but it really wasn't that much. Here's another view:

i had one week of heartburn with Cohen, and only when I ate tomatoes, which is my favorite food of all time hehe, and he was born with lots of hair (not like Adriana, though).

Susie, OMG, that sounds TERRIBLE! I hope it doesn't get that bad for you this time around.

...and Adriana is so adorable. You're right, she didn't look like a newborn. Cohen didn't either, but that was because of his size lol.

FALSE

both my boys were completely BALD at birth (thomas until 18 mos, Collin until almost a year) and I had the worst heartburn with them! So bad, I swear I should have taken stock in tums, I had to sleep sitting up it was so bad! This time I just started getting it this week..

My son was born with hair and I had severe heartburn the entire 2nd and 3rd trimesters. It didn't matter what I ate...I would get it even after drinking a glass of water.

It's not true from a science stance, but it IS fun to ponder From personal experience, I never had any heart burn with any of my children (well, on rare occasion I did, but not on a regular basis) and they ranged. Tatum had a little bit of hair, Caitlyn had almost none, Ansley had TONS of hair, Emily had just a little bit, Camden had tons nad Noah had a little bit...lol. Hey, there's a pattern there! I've never thought about that

I have had clients bring their babies in (There's one on my blog a few posts down with TONS AND TONS AND TOOONNNNS of hair) and they tell me mixed stories about the heart burn I know it's not true, but I always ask just because it's fun

Lots of heartburn with all three, and none of them had much in the way of hair!

All of my kids have had a good amount of hair. I'm not talking about the babies born with a shockingly large amount of hair but they were far from bald. I had heartburn with all of them but nothing major.

However, I do remember with my 6th one night that I thought I was going to be sick from the heartburn. It hurt so bad and I was up for hours in the middle of the night.

She is the only one of my kids to have corkscrew curly hair. When it is wet it is down to the middle of her back. When it is dry it is just below her chin. It is CRAZY curly.

I have only had a tiny bit of heartburn and that has been in the last week. I think baby will have hair just because I can't imagine one of my babies being bald since none of my others have been.

Not true for me. Terrible heartburn with both Jas and Zac and neither of them had much hair at birth. Jassie never really got any hair at all until she was about 18 months old.

For me no! I have heartburn bad no matter what. I had one kid who had so much hair you could part it and comb it over when he was born, and one that had nothing but peach fuzz.
